Beautiful atmosphere, warm, welcoming, clean and bright. The perfect breakfast place. The tables are far enough from each other where you don't feel as if you're too crammed together or hearing other people's conversations. The hosts are very kind, very attentive and know their food and options really well. They truly make you feel as though you are a guest in their home, a trait I look for in restaurant staff and seldom find it at restaurants anymore unfortunately so it was a relief to find it here! In addition to our server coming back to check on us, we had an additional 3 to 4 different restaurant hosts come to make sure everything was satisfactory. Every time we were greeted with a smile, very professional service, cheerful disposition and conversation was kept to the point to be respectful to our conversation.
The menu was slightly confusing to me with all the amazing options so our server also took the time to see what I wanted to eat and pointed to the menu item that fit my description, also keeping our dietary restrictions in mind and substituting mushrooms for meat in our entrees which was awesome.
Our food came out quickly, and in an orderly fashion. Coffee and Tea were served to us first, then came our dishes. Each dish was clean, and beautifully presented. Not too hot and not too cold. Everything tasted perfect! The one tiny critique I would make if any at all would be for the hollandaise to be better emulsified, other than that everything was literal perfection!
This was our second time at Honey Berry and I think I would be too afraid to try any other location because I don't want to risk changing the impression I have of it! Our breakfast guests from out of town were my Mom and brother and they thought it was the best breakfast place they've ever had and wanted to ask who to contact to open a location in our home state!
Highly, highly...
Read more2.5 hrs for breakfast?! we waited a little over an hour to get seated… once we were seated it took about 15 mins for someone to come greet the table then our waters were forgotten then out soups were forgotten then we waited and waited and waited. The server assured us multiple times that our food was coming out shortly, Was it? Are you sure? honestly, i couldn’t handle it anymore. I got up and told the host, I can’t wait any longer. The host got my server and the server said the food is being put on the tray now… i relictantly stayed. The food was decent.. but then the checks weren’t split like we had originally asked and there were some extra service charge on the bill… at this point i didn’t have any more patience. I just paid the extra amount in order to just get the heck outta there. I have a grace for the servers because it’s not their fault that the kitchen really cannot keep up with the amount of traffic that comes through there. it really is poor management or just not ability to cook quickly enough because other restaurants that are that busy get people in and out quickly… It makes customers upset and it’s also bad for servers because customers blame the servers even when it’s not the servers fault… I’ve been a server for over eight years so I know exactly how it is. I still tipped our server more than average, However honestly the restaurant itself did not deserve the money. I will not be going back anytime soon unfortunately. This was the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant in quite a while… And I go out to eat all the time… I have Grace but if this is something that is consistent and from reading previous reviews it is and I don’t feel like they have any plans to change.. I’m sorry I just cannot justify wasting my whole day...
Read moreI will start with the food was good. Your normal Wisconsin breakfast place. I take my son out to breakfast every Monday throughout Waukesha County. We have a lot of breakfast experience.
I was seated with my mom and my son at a nice sized clean table. Silverware was wrapped and clean, water glasses were full and clean and the coffee was hot. I placed an additional drink order for a coke. We then waited to order. And we waited. Out server couldn't place the order himself, he had to get the person training him to show him out to use the iPad. The ordering was easy and then we waited the normal amount of time you would expect to wait. Food was brought out by someone different who had no idea what we ordered and presented the two adults with food. One was correct but given to the wrong person, one was incorrect totally.
This is where everything went downhill. It took a long time to find someone to help with the order mishap. Once it was rectified, my order was brought out. No one came to check on us during the duration of the meal. No drink refill, no additional condiments, no additional napkins, no box when we were finished. The check was eventually placed on our table. As I was cleaning up my son's things, the server came back to take the check, which we hadn't even looked at because we were boxing things and packing up the child's things.
It was unfortunate. I probably wouldn't return based solely on service because the food was just "good". I don't expect to be wowed during a soft opening, just convinced that they actually want...
