Checkers — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

Checkers in Lake Ronkonkoma is hands down one of my favorite fast-food spots! I recently stopped by and was blown away by how good everything was. The Big Buford and Baconzilla burgers were absolutely massive and packed with flavor, and the Spicy Chicken Sandwich had the perfect kick. Their seasoned fries are addictively good, and I can’t recommend finishing your meal without a cheesecake sundae—it’s the perfect sweet ending.

The staff here is super friendly, and I even noticed them being really kind to dogs, which is such a nice touch if you’re bringing your pet. The restaurant itself feels clean, modern, and welcoming, and the hours are super convenient—open from 10:30 AM to 2:00 AM so it’s perfect for late-night cravings.

After their recent renovations, this location really stands out. Everything feels fresh, well-maintained, and efficient. I left feeling completely satisfied, and I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. If you’re in Lake Ronkonkoma and love bold, delicious fast food, this Checkers is...

I am absolutely disgusted and disappointed in the way my elderly father just came home upset because of the way he was treated by the staff at this location. He waited a ridiculous amount of time to get up to the microphone for them to tell him they were refusing service here for questioning the people ahead of him what was taking so long. When he asked why they were refusing service they said the people in front of him said that he was mad they were taking a long time. He was frustrated and asked what took them so long and they said their computers were down. They should have went outside and let the customers know there would be a wait because the computers were down. When he asked them why they did not inform the customers they threatened my father saying they have him on camera and if he didn’t leave they would call the police. Shame on the man on the microphone tonight at the drive thru around 10pm! Will not return to this...

TLDR: They do not provide the amount of food they say they will when purchasing.

I hate to give a bad review since Checkers is just about my favorite fast food spot and a bunch of them closed recently but they are dishonest.

This is the half pound chicken bites box. I’ve ordered this a couple times before and every time I’ve been unpleasantly surprised by how little chicken I got so this time I actually brought it home and weighed it. Lo and behold, the amount of chicken is nearly 50% less than what it is supposed to be. It’s supposed to be 8 oz of chicken and they give a little more than 4.

Given the premium prices Checkers is charging, this is really not acceptable. I don’t know if or when I will be back even though, for fast food, the food itself is pretty good and...
