Whole store smells like maggots. They must never rinse their mops, just keep spreading the germs around. I went there for milk a while back and found that many of the containers were dented and had dirt and grease and mud all over them. As if they had been run over while being off loaded. Who would allow those containers to be put on the shelf? Some were worse than others, some only needed to be hosed off others need to be discarded. But it was more then that, there was a three quarter inch thick layer of curdled milk on the floor of the case. All at varying degrees of water, milk, yogurt, curd, ice cream and cheese. It was vile. Whoever loaded that case and his or her supervisor need some schooling. So no wonder the Whole store smells like garbage and decay and filth. It hits you like a punch in the face. It's a shame, because it's a relatively new building to have it impregnated with that odor is really too bad. In my opinion, the store should be sanitized professionally, and the concrete floor sealed.
I worked at the old Fulton fish market in lower Manhattan for years in the eighties so I know filth and decay. ALL these years later that smell comes right back. MAGGOTS MAGGOTS MAGGOTS. SHOP...
ย ย ย Read moreI only go to stop and shop when I need a few things I cant get at Meat Farms. The cashier situation is a disaster. They dont have enough cashiers so your forced to use the automated ones which is always a problem. Some are usually not able to take cash and often something goes wrong and you have to wait for someone to come over to make that machine happy with the key card. The worst part of Stop and Shop is the meat department. If you move the chicken at the bottom of the case you will see a pool of sludgy old chicken juice. They dont clean those cases they just keep adding meat on top of that salmonella pool. I always check it just out of curiosity and its always disgusting. I even moved some chicken so the gook would be visible and a few minutes later the meat guy came along and just put the chicken back in place. There is no way he didnt see that health hazard. Im surprised that the board of health hasnt done anything. I dont buy any meats or anything that didnt come sealed by the manufacturer because if the conditions are that bad where the customer can see I cant imagine how bad things are out of our sight. Beware of Stop and...
ย ย ย Read moreHorrible store. I stopped buying majority of my groceries here a month or 2 ago when I realized they were way overpriced compared to other stores, however I would continue to buy baby formula here for my daughter from time to time although it is cheaper everywhere also, only because this store is so close to me, making it convenient. Tonight I was in a rush to get formula so I stopped in, and I donโt know if it was an error in their machines or if they are just crooks but the price for the same EXACT can of baby formula I bought here 2 weeks ago for $19.99, ( which is overpriced still, everywhere else is $18.00) is now priced at $23.95! I asked the woman if she could check because I had just bought the same can here 2 weeks ago for cheaper but she had no interest in helping me, she just tried to compare it to different brands/size cans to justify the price and gave me an attitude. It was clear she didnโt want to actually help me so I just paid for it and left but that will be my last time here. The fact that they are taking advantage of a necessity for infants and toddlers by hiking prices...
