I was super excited to try out German Doner Kebab, especially when I saw that their food is halal! I ordered both the Original GDK Doner Kebab and the Junior Doner, with a mix of chicken and beef—and let me tell you, the quantity did not disappoint. The Original is huge—easily enough to feed two people—and the Junior is a perfect personal portion.
One of the coolest parts is being able to see the meat sliced through the window; whether it's chicken, beef, or lamb, it's a great touch to the experience. The staff were engaging and welcoming, making the visit even more enjoyable.
They offer three sauces: a spicy sauce, a garlic mayo, and one more that I didn’t catch, but you can definitely ask for all three. Everything was stuffed into the sandwich—overflowing with flavor and toppings.
Price-wise, I thought it was very fair: about $12 for the Original, $6 for the Junior, and you can make it a meal for around $5 extra (fries and drink included). I also tried one of their empanadas, which was super crispy and flavorful—definitely worth trying.
They have a lot of variety on the menu, and while I haven’t sampled everything yet, the portion size and value are excellent. Since they're still pretty new, I hope they can keep up the quality and momentum. Based on my first visit, they’re off to a great start. Wishing them all the best—I’d love to...
Read moreStepping into German Doner Kebab, I was immediately greeted by a vibrant, modern atmosphere that set the stage for what promised to be a unique culinary experience. Unlike traditional kebab shops, GDK presents a sleek, almost fast-casual dining environment, which was a pleasant surprise.
I opted for their classic "Original German Doner" in a large, along with a refreshing drink. The service was swift and friendly, with the staff efficiently taking orders and preparing the food.
The star of the show, the Original German Doner, arrived beautifully presented. The toasted, fluffy waffle bread was a delightful departure from the usual pita, offering a slightly sweet counterpoint to the savory fillings. Inside, the succulent, thinly sliced beef and chicken doner meat was piled high, perfectly cooked with a slight crispness at the edges. What truly elevated this kebab were the fresh, crisp vegetables – lettuce, red cabbage, and onions – and the trio of signature sauces: a spicy chili, a creamy garlic, and a tangy yogurt sauce. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors – the tender meat, the crunchy vegetables, and the creamy, zesty sauces. It felt lighter and less greasy than traditional kebabs, yet...
Read moreOrdered the “original beef” sandwich 3 times (different times on purpose). First time the sandwich had mostly salad, one slice of thin tomato , no sauce and chicken! ( I didn’t even order the chicken). So mistakes happen right? Told the tall guy with the baseball hat and his response “what’s the problem man, that’s what you ordered”. I showed him the receipt and he just walked away. Second time ordered the original beef sandwich again.. his time the person working didn’t wear gloves, made the sandwich with beef and mostly salad and barely any sauce. Third time around ordered original chicken sandwich, and the guy working made the sandwich with mostly salad, one slice of tomato and few strips of BEEF..so clearly the employees aren’t trained and/or following instructions properly. The sandwich didn’t have sauce and was told you have to buy the sauce. So basically you get a dry sandwich. Well tried it three times and that’s pretty much the three strikes…. Pretty bad experience every...
