Pisco Peruvian Nikkei is hands-down one of the best new restaurants to open in Suffolk County. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles, beautiful décor, and an atmosphere that feels both upscale and cozy. The fusion of Peruvian and Japanese flavors is absolutely brilliant — every dish is a work of art. I tried the ceviche nikkei and it blew me away — fresh, citrusy, and perfectly balanced with a touch of umami. The lomo saltado sushi roll was another showstopper — a playful twist that somehow works flawlessly. You can tell the chefs here put real passion into every plate. The cocktails are also next-level — especially the Pisco Passion, which has the perfect mix of sweet, tart, and tropical. The service is attentive without being overbearing, and the owners clearly care about making every guest feel special. It’s rare to find a place that delivers on flavor, presentation, and vibe all at once, but Pisco Peruvian Nikkei nails it. Centereach finally has a restaurant that could easily compete with anything in Manhattan. I can’t wait to come back again and again!

Dinner for 4 on a Friday night at 7. Greeted and seated in the lovely and distinctive dining room promptly. Wait staff arrived quickly, water was a constant, we’re all big water drinkers and love when attention is paid to thirst. 3/4 of us ordered specialty cocktails that did not disappoint on flavor or presentation, Pisco Sour and the Piscojito were delicious. Appetizers of spicy edamame and the gluten free Lomito Bao Buns were excellent choices before our entrees. The gentleman both ordered the Bistec A lo Pobre, and couldn’t stop talking about the egg over the rice cooked to perfection and loved the chorizo and steak without criticism. Lamb chops were perfection other than being served in a small bowl which made it complicated to eat so I asked for a different plate, odd criticism but the bowl was oddly proportioned to the serving size. We had a gluten free diet at the table so the fourth entree was the Steak Chaufa which also left no crumbs. Overall a wonderful experience in a vibrant restaurant.

I still remember the first bite — bright, citrusy, and bursting with flavor. It was papa roll, Every element balanced perfectly the heat of the wasabi, and the sweetness of the ingredients that rounded it all out. But the real revelation came with the lomo saltado — tender strips of beef stir-fried with onions, tomatoes, and soy sauce, then tossed with crispy fries and served over rice. It’s the ultimate fusion of Peruvian and Japanese flavors (a style known as chifa), and I’ve never had anything like it anywhere else. And then there was bistec a la pobre, a delicious blend of chaufa, steak and fries. A marvelous, but subtle combination of flavors — comfort food at its finest. What makes Peruvian cuisine so unforgettable is its diversity — a melting pot of indigenous ingredients, Spanish influence, and Asian inspiration. Every dish tells a story of culture, migration, and creativity. If I had to describe it in one word? Vibrant. The colors, the flavors, the heart — all uniquely Peruvian.

  1. 2025: I and my companions came in for dinner tonight. And this was our first time there. We were very excited because it had been about two weeks waiting for the opening. This is not a sad tale of woe, However, it is a tale of good, bad and ugly. Good: The decor and the music as well as the service was above our expectations and we were very happy about this. The hostess was decent enough. However, I have to give kudos out to the waitstaff, because they were very attentive. The menu was only about two pages.A very clean and straightforward menu and what was being offered was a good assortment. Bad: Something that was immediately noticeable was the pricing, which, even by market standards, was a little high. The Lomido Bao Buns would normally be slightly overpriced at 3 or four pieces. However, when we received them, there were only two pieces that were smaller than market average. This was terrible because there were four people in total and only two buns. We simply cut them in half. I would suggest when it comes to appetizers and extras the restaurant redo their menu to say exactly how many pieces you're going to get so customers can adjust. However, We were not going to judge the location based purely on this. You pay for what you get and we were excited about the entree food. UGLY: for the prices we paid, the portion sizes were ridiculously small, absolute ridiculous. Personally I ordered the Chaufa Misto. This is a traditional rice dish and the particular one I ordered contained steak, chicken and shrimp. The portion size I received in total was a little larger than the size of my hand and this was placed in a ridiculously oversized plate. You can imagine my disappointment and surprise. There was barely any rice, two pieces of shrimp. One piece of steak and possibly two pieces of chicken. However, it is a rice dish with hardly any rice. After three forkfuls it was gone. My partner ordered a salmon dinner, which was an obscenely thin slice on top of potatoes. It really was also overpriced for the portion size. The rest of our party received similar treatment with the last person in our party getting the Bistec allo pobre. I will admit that this was the only decent size dinner. That was served. It was on a really big size square plate, and the piece of steak was decent again for the price too small. His sausage was possibly half of a long link. In all our tab, without alcoholic drinks or dessert came out to a little less than $300.00. That included an eighteen percent tip, as well as tax. I am sorely disappointed because it's a fusion restaurant.I am hispanic.I have been to peru. There's nothing on that menu that would have been new to me.But it probably should have been more in a kids.Menu because of the portion sizes. This place would be excellent if a party of adults was going for some drinks and dessert. And perhaps dancing, because there's plenty of room to put the tables back and to offer some good music and dancing. But this is definitely not a place where someone should go with a party to have a dinner and expect to be satisfied. We left there at best. Not hungry and definitely far from full. Our intention is not to get full and get sleepy. But to enjoy a meal.We also waited almost forty minutes to get the meal. And we were done eating in about fifteen minutes WITH check paid!!! I have the receipt email to me so I'm pretty sure about the timing of everything. We will not be going to this establishment again for dinner. But we may go for the opportunity to try the tresletches and possibly a few drinks. But I wouldn't recommend it for anything else, which is a shame....

I was so excited to try this restaurant but honestly left disappointed.

I found the portion sizes for some of the items to be outrageous—specifically the bao buns. $18 for 2 small buns! With not even close to $9 worth of beef per bun. I would expect 3-4 buns for that price and to even make them remotely shareable as an appetizer. Someone else in our party got the shrimp with the potato cubes. I don’t know if they were meant to be this way, but the potato cubes were ice cold which just made for an unpleasant eating experience with the hot fried shrimp.

Then the drinks. I do not like that drink prices are not listed on the menu and I especially do not like that any extra flavors (i.e. passion fruit in the pisco sour) are an undisclosed $2 upcharge.

As for the entrees, feedback from our group ranges from just okay to excellent. The ceviche was a hit and the pesto pasta looked like a generous portion and very appetizing. I got the papa roll which was on the just okay end of the spectrum. It was tasty but the flavors were pretty one note and on par with rolls I’ve had at other Japanese restaurants. No Peruvian fusion that I could detect.

All of this iffiness I was willing to forgive and give this restaurant a second chance (I thought maybe I would just know what to order and not to order next time). But then came the final straw that left a bad taste in my mouth and dissuaded me from coming back here.

I was in a group of 9 people for my fiance’s birthday. We let our server know that it was his birthday so I was expecting some of the staff to come over and sing or maybe a scoop of ice cream for my fiancé if we were lucky. Instead he got a whole slice of cake—a pleasant surprise I thought! Then when looking our pre-tax, pre-tip $700 tab, I saw that they CHARGED US for the cake! A slice of cake that we didn’t even technically ask for or gave confirmation to bring out. But honestly I have NEVER been to a restaurant that charged for any kind of birthday goodie like that. And on a bill that came to $860 when all was said and done! I’m sure they could have eaten the cost of the $12 slice of cake.

This is what has stuck out to me the most and honestly what pushed me to write this review. I never leave reviews, much less negative ones, but I just felt like I had to share my experience because I am thoroughly disappointed. For the way this restaurant nickel and dimes you, they don’t have any business being this inconsistent on quality...

Been waiting for this to open as it is literally down the block from where I live. The atmosphere is a 10/10, really nice vibes and a huge entrance when you walk in. Because it has just opened there was literally no wait time, our server was really nice, she spoke highly of the food and even offered us several recommendations. My wife and I had the lomo buns appetizer which was very tasty. For dinner we got the tri ceviche which was extremely tasty, you could tell it was all fresh. We also had 2 of their sushi rolls (the Peruvian dream and the Papa roll).... And this is where it got a bit shaky. I've had bad sushi, I've had great sushi, but this falls right in the middle. The thing is over this year we've gotten a bit spoiled. Hear me out, why pay $18 for a sushi roll, when I can go to Wegmans down the street and get rolls for less? Now like I said it isn't bad by any means, but if you live in the area you know there are better sushi spots. I wouldn't come here for sushi, but I will say the ceviche was amazing. I just hope the mid sushi doesn't scare people off from their seafood as it really was a home run, but I think they need to find tune their sushi options a bit more to compete with the left side of the menu because the appetizers and Peruvian cuisine was exquisite. I will definitely be back to try their lomo saltado as that seemed to be the popular dish that I overheard people ordering. All the best, I'm excited to have such a nice spot so...
