We have a tradition of coming here for st pattys day because my hubby does not eat red meat. He always getfs his turkey burger and is happy. I was estatic to see fried pickles on the menu. I got the pickles, seafood bisque, caesar salad and a corned beef sandwich. EVERYTHING was fresh, came out hot and was delicious. It can get loud but it was st pattys day after all. Try it, you will go back.

Read moreI've never had a bad experience here. Everything about Grumpy Jack's is pleasurable. They're always quick to greet you upon entry. Service is very accommodating. There is a wide selection of things to eat. I cant speak for the bar but from the looks of it, there is a lot going on for drinks too. I'm a fan of the look - it's like a house was remodeled a bit so it could be a restaurant. We've tried the bacon and blue cheese burger (or was it gorgonzola, I don't know, it's all tasty to me), the po-boy sandwich, the crispy chicken sandwich, the sliced steak sandwich... all have been a 20 on the money!
My only gripe comes from my most recent visit where we got a waiter for the first time. He wasn't the most attentive and was definitely more interested in chatting with the table next to us; they were obviously friends of his. I'm glad someone else stepped in and helped us because it wasn't really all to cool to go with no refills, napkins, etc. This doesn't factor into my score since the other guy took care of us in the waiter's stead. Otherwise the usual waitresses are friendly and swift.

A young fellow mopped a spill off the floor with a rag and moments later used the same rag to clean a table. I don't know! At least the ladies' room was clean and nice. We ordered some typical bar food. The poppers tasted freezer burned with hints of mildew just awful, not edible at all. The BLT I ordered was a "special" and the bacon was very tough. The fried green tomato seemed prepared elsewhere and probably from the freezer. The lettuce again was not fresh. The "Greek salad" was ridiculous. It had mesclun lettuce, not romaine, mesclun was brown at stem edges, there were no red onions, no feta cheese! two tired olives, a couple pieces of cucumber, pepperoncini and 2 grape tomatoes in this salad? That was not a greek salad! Can't recommend this place. True, I have not tried everything on the menu , but why would I bother with so many other good places to eat in the area! If I could sum it up in one word it would be tired. The place is tired ......
