We had a disappointing experience dining in.
•The decor was standard for a typical Southeast Asian restaurant—nothing remarkable, though the wall art was nice. Service was lackluster and unimpressive.
•Prices were reasonable; we ordered nihari, bihari kabab, and a chicken achari dish, each priced around $15. Prices are high but food is really lacking flavor here.
However, a few things really messed up this dinner:
•The “limca” drink, essentially a Sprite with added salt, was priced at $5. You’d be better off ordering a regular Sprite and asking for salt separately, which would cost about $2. Save yourself the disappointment and skip this drink.
•We found a hair in the chicken achari. Although they replaced my plate, they did not replace the meal, and I was still charged for it, which was frustrating.
•The food itself lacked salt and flavor, which could be easily improved. Due to the hair incident, the food only earned 2 stars from us.
•The service was mediocre at best. To top it off, there was a mandatory service charge, which likely disincentivizes staff from making any efforts to improve.
Overall, a disappointing experience, and we won’t...
Read moreI love the food at the Hicksville location, so decided to check this location out.
Spacious and clean interior. Food is not nearly as good as Hicksville location. They gave a small plate of salad to start, which looked old and had a plastic wrapper in it. Had garlic mayo fries which was decent. The chicken malai tikka roll was just ok, but they put a ton of onions in it and the chicken was a little dry. The beef nihari was pretty good and so was the garlic naan.
Staff is fine but seemed overwhelmed. One of them must have been hard of hearing because it was virtually impossible to get his attention when trying to get the check. I got up and flagged another server to finally get the check. Then when they took my card it took almost another 10 minutes to get it back, lol. Plenty to improve on but it's a brand new spot, so I am hoping they can get...
Read moreI used to work by Levitown NY so I used to go to kababjees there. Always good food, awesome interior and great service. Im glad to say the tradition has continued at their Seleden, NY. location. On a Saturday. My kids wanted to have halwa puri as take out. I tried a Lotta places in Suffolk but none of them had it. Although kababjees open at 11 I tried my luck and called them at 10:30. To my pleasant surprise, Kahalida Malik picked up and not only she was super polite, very hospitable and understanding with some of my questions I had on their breakfsst menu. To my delight. Food was ready in 15 mins and ready to go. Couldn't thank them enough for coming through for our kids. They really wanted halwa puri for breakfast. Thank you so much Kabajees and Khalida for a great customer service. Best of luck with this...
