Caffe Amici — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

Extremely disappointed to say the least!!! Our Easter dinner was a disaster from start to finish..I have been here before and we decided to treat my son and his Fiance as well as my other sons.. The appetizers were never served.My son's appetizer finally came out with our entrees .They had forgotten his dinner order .The appetizer went back and another server came back with the same exact appetizer for my son.Still no dinner while our entrees were on table.We were waiting to eat together but food was getting cold. Even after speaking to hostess my sons dinner came out wrong!!!!..He just settled and ate it..Poor kid was starving..The table next to us started to laugh because the same thing started happening to them. No dessert menu was offered .we had to ask another server..Our drinks were not refreshed.When we ordered coffee and cappuccinos we had no spoons..We asked but never received...I had so many people coming to apologize it became disruptive. The hostess promised free desserts.We wound up paying for two.The owner Sal gave up a box of specialty slices on the way out that I only took as to not make a scene in front of my son and his fiance.We are an Italian American family.No Mac cheese pizza slices etc..All those wierd ones that would not sell that night .I am very diplomatic so being there were other customers right there I didn't tell him no one would eat them.They are going to work with my husband for co workers.. We rarely have a chance to dine out..money time etc..I cook usually never dine out on Easter. We spent close to 200.00 and it was the worst service I can recall quite possibly ever if not in a long time. I don't know if Sal or Carmella really knew how horrendous this was.Very upsetting ..

I called after being home for a bit but no answer. I really feel that our dinner should have been given to us for free.The whole experience was very upsetting .

Just terrible ... I am sorry to write this but I did not handle our bill ..If I had the chance to speak discreetly I would hope that this would have been handled better..This was much more than a few freebies . It was a holiday dinner with stolen moments of busy times in our lives that was a Disaster.

(Note: this was Sept/Oct 2018 I just corrected spellings now) This is my new to me favorite Italian,fish restaurant! My bf has been going here prior me for years. Brought me once and we are planning to come back, just that it's not around corner from where I live. I love this place. I'm not sure when, but it changed management or maybe owners but awesome. Spoke to the mgr a couple of times due to issues but not a big deal because they do right to make it all right! Not cheap but worth it. Staff is really friendly and nice. We had Angelina as the waitress who was excellent! I had an Italian dish that was a sampling of a couple italian favorite foods-Shrimp,Eggplant Rolletini etc) in one order which was excellent & leftovers to bring home (pic 3/4) Appetizer fried Zucchini (Pic 2/4) was excellent & 1st X I've liked it in My life. My Bf had a seafood dish that he always gets called Seafood Pescatori (pic 1/4). While usually perfect, this time the muscles were cooked a little to long which made them tough. He spoke to our waitress & male mgr about it. They made it right by bringing out a new batch of cooked muscles which were perfect that time.

Save room for dessert! When you walk in there's a section that you would see items for takeout and desserts. Your server will bring around a tray of desserts that are available or just ask for what you had your eye on! If you are a fan of tiramisu it's the bomb! Even better was it was NC due to the issue with the muscles.

We were told that they were usually packed with a wait for a table, however we hit it on a weekday @ a good time & went right in (I think it was a tuesday). Can't wait to go back, hopefully time it right to not have a wait as I hate waiting more than half hour.

There desserts are the bomb!! Save room for them, the 2nd best tirasium I've had! ...

Stay away from catering from here! I recently had 2 catering orders from Cate Amici. One was a small pick up order and the other was catered food for a party. I spent over $1300 for this food and had issues with communication and incorrect items during the whole experience. The pick up order was a disaster and I got stuck in the restaurant for 20 minutes bc the catering managers couldn’t find the receipt and were unsure of if I paid although I told them multiple times that I did. I had called the week prior to add a half tray of food to the order and had to call 3-4 times before speaking with a catering manager bc they wouldn’t get on the phone or call me back. Then yesterday was my catered delivery. I needed to show proof of catering insurance to my venue and called 1 week prior to the event asking for it. Yet again no catering manager called me back to discuss this so I called again the day before the party to ask for it and the catering manager Maryann was very rude and told me I shouldn’t have waited until the last minute although I already stated I had called earlier in the week. Next they dropped everything off without any serving utensils and I had to call back and request they drop off serving spoons. They were very rude on the phone stating there were no utensils on my receipt and it took them 45 minutes to come back with those items. How would I serve 8 trays of food with no serving spoons? I know I did request they were part of the original order when speaking with the catering manager on the phone. Although their food is great I will never be using them for...
