The space is pretty and cozy but the food was a major disappointment. We made a reservation for 6 PM and arrived at 5:30 PM hoping to sit first at the bar, but were told we had to sit right away because their night was going to be “crazy”. Once seated, our server was knowledgeable and guided us through the menu. The menu, on paper, looks fantastic! However it did not meet our expectations. The mussels lacked flavor, and had an overpowering amount of ?rosemary? Thyme? that made them unenjoyable. My husband’s pork was dry and poorly seasoned, and served on top of burnt (black!) brussel sprouts. The sauce that came with the pork tasted more like a salad dressing than an accompaniment. Pasta with ricotta sauce was OK, presentation was lacking. Not at all what you would expect for such an overpriced place. 2 stars because the wine selection was ample and there were many by the glass options, but sadly not even one Long Island wine on there. Unfortunately we will not be going back. We both come from Sicilian families and know really good, well prepared food. This...
Read moreHonestly, if the wine wasn’t good I’d be truly annoyed at leaving even one star. We were there for three hours. Our entree took an hour and a half and when it finally came out, they told my mom hers would be another 20 mins so we didn’t even bother getting it. It was my moms birthday, they didn’t do anything or even think to ask. This place shouldn’t have a dinner menu at all it should strictly be wine. They can’t handle the capicity of people which mind you, full house wasn’t even a lot. 2 other couples complained and were pissed because they waited hours for their food. So at the end of all this nonsense, the owner refused to even give us a break on the bill which was very expensive. Poor customer service, literally terrible. It’s a shame she said this place was a dream of hers, you’d think she would’ve took some management / customer service classes first. Point being, if you want a glass of wine sure go here.. if you’re hungry...
Read moreI love this place! Being a displaced city girl, I have found it very challenging to find a place that has great wine, quality food with a European flair, that has a great vibe and service as it should be delivered. The service is FANTASTIC in this place, the Italian board is GREAT quality (having grown in a family of Italian chefs-- we owned a high-end gourmet Italian deli, I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to prosciutto and Mortadella---they use top quality products here. )The canellini beans with pancetta is a must, and the muscles in white wine were perfectly done. The maitre de turned us on to a fantastic red wine blend, which is now my favorite. I have been there 3 times now, and it's been equally good each time. My third visit had a great solo guitar/jazz singer-- not too loud at all... A perfect soulful background. Jacqueline and her staff understand service and quality--- it's like a slice of Manhattan out here in the...
