That was the first (and quite likely last time) I ordered from this place, as I don't live in the area. Seriously, $45 for a mediocre-at-best pizza and some garlic knots that, despite asking for extra garlic, had barely any at all? Garlic knots should be loaded with garlic, especially when the customer asks and (presumably) pays for extra. Sadly, these had almost no flavor at all. Which is a real shame, given the taste of the pizza which they were meant to compliment. As for the pizza, the problem with it wasn't so much the taste as the mouthfeel and overall quality. I guess they want to justify high prices, but the food suffers for how they're trying to make up for it - with quantity. Individually, the components of the pizza tasted great, with the exception of the center of the crust. The crust has a great flavor overall but it's far too thick, which makes it chewy and feel almost undercooked in the middle. But they have to use such a thick crust to support the weight of the toppings - in this case, the chicken and super thick cheese of the chicken parm pie. Again, the flavors were excellent, but it was just too much when all put together. I realize that in today's world, everyone equates biggest with best, and that's how they're going to attract customers. But in this case, they could have easily used half as much cheese, and maybe 1/3 to 3/4 of the chicken, but cut it up into smaller pieces, and then used half the dough for a nice, NYC style thin and crispy crust. Not only could they then charge less - and thus garner more customers with a combination of quality AND value - but the pizza would be absolutely superior to pretty much any other pie I've ever had.
The delivery guy was pleasant and friendly, and was pretty spot-on with the promised...
Read moreAbout four months ago, I visited Via Pizza for the first and last time. That night there were three people behind the counter. Two guys with white aprons, and a guy, slim, dark hair, Italian/Mediterranean in appearance, wearing all black clothing seemed bothered by my presence; he took my order with less motivation than a Joe Biden speech. I ordered 2 plain slices and rice ball with sauce and a bottled soda. One of the staff went to the back to prepare the sauce for the rice ball, great person by the way, excellent customer service skills; he greeted me like a normal human would, unlike the guy in black who I think might be the manager or owner or whatever. The third staff member took the payment and gave me a receipt and said thank you. Then the other staff came back with the sauce for the rice ball. The guy in black puts it in the bag, I took it and headed out, and suddenly I heard a "yo! You have to pay for that" from the guy in black clothing; not even "excuse me" or "pardon me" I turned around and looked him dead in the eye and when I was about to tell him not call me "Yo," the guy who took my payment told him "he's good, he already paid," and his response was "oh" looked at me in disgust, then turned around and preceded to bag some food for other customers. That guy needs to learn a thing of two about customer service from the other two gentlemen; the food is excellent, but I'll never spend another dollar at Via Pizza, I will rather spend it at the Chinese...
Read moreUsed to come here all the time. They knew my dad by name because we ordered here a lot. The food is good. But my dad is diabetic so he mostly gets salad. Sometimes he would get chicken cutlet parm but even stopped because he would always ask for light cheese because of his diabetes they would put too much on. I went in one day to place an order and told them light cheese for his and then when they were making his food I heard them making fun of it saying "light cheese? how boring can you be. Dont come here if you want light cheese." idk man some of us can't have that much cheese like my father because of health issues. Idk the name of that employee because it was a whe ago. But when I went back to our apartment they put loads and loads of cheese and he was really upset and couldn't eat it. I told him I told them light cheese and that I heard them making fun of him for wanting light cheese. He wasn't happy at all. Don't make fun of your customers. Wait until they at least leave or say it quietly so they cant hear you. If it was me being made fun of I wouldn't care too much. But...
