May Garden (Port Jefferson Station) — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

Dumplings missing dipping sauce. We called (kindly) to ask for it. Woman who answered phone insisted it was in the bag, accused us of doing this before (it was only our second time ordering from them). We thoroughly checked and it was not with the order. She said she would have driver drop it off and told us to never order from her again. Then she hung up on us. Driver never dropped it off.

REPLY TO YOUR REPLY: WHY would anyone lie about a review as bad as this. What would be a valid motivation to want to do this to anyone. Even in your reply you still do not understand what is being said. Never mentioned "garlic sauce". We were missing the "dumpling sauce". Had nothing to do with the receipt. You hung up on us after we simply asked for the missing dumpling dipping sauce that was not in the order. You then told us to never call or order from you again. It was the strangest ordering experience...

Thursday, wish I knew when that particular young lady is working to avoid going there then.....One young lady has excellent customer service skills and the other looks like she wished not to have to work there .... No response to "Hello", is too much trouble. Taking the order impatiently (no one else was in the store) and hurried. Forget "thank you" much less "have a good day" or acknowledge "good bye" No one needs a blank sour puss, every one can have a bad day, but at least make an effort... This was not the first time, so if you dont want to be there, by all means stay home. Food is meant to be enjoyable from order begining to end. After all customers deserve a bit of professional attitude, is all part of the business. The food here is great, better than most in the area and we go at least twice a week, but the sour part can be avoided. ...

We have been customers for years because the staff here really makes the experience easy. The woman who answers the phone (Julie? Judy?) is affable and quick. She is always a pleasure to speak with and gets the order right every time. Perhaps this is why we have never had an order arrive without extra sauce, increased spiciness, or a missing an item. Whomever is buying and preparing the food is doing an excellent job. The vegetables aren't mush, the meats aren't chewy and... unpleasant, and anything fried comes crispy every time. Delivery is often early, never late. Longer during busy times or for larger orders but that's to be expected. For it's genre, you really can't...
