My wife and I got married back in May. We were so excited to get married and we wanted to have a wedding cake that reflected that excitement. We worked with Lorraine and David on the cake tasting and the wedding cake design. It came out great! We picked ribbon for the cake and at first I was very much on the fence- who puts ribbon on a cake? Well... it was beautiful! The ribbon matched the bridesmaid’s dresses and the cream color of the cake complimented the lighting of the reception hall! Not only did the cake look great but it tasted great! We picked marble cake with cannoli cream- it was a big hit! Normally I skip the wedding cake at a wedding... looks nice but that's about it... not in this case! The Rolling Pin Bakery was the bakery that worked with our venue for the wedding cake. We had heard wonderful things about Rolling Pin but had never tried anything from them. Due to planning during COVID we did not do any sort of cake-testing and chose our cake at one of our meetings with our venue. We wanted to do a burgundy piping on the cake and the bakery reached out the week prior to our wedding to ask if we wanted to change the color because there was humid and wet weather in the weekend forecast. We were so appreciative of them being proactive and reaching out to us so that our wedding cake did not “sweat” and the colors did not run. When we saw the cake it was perfect and when we, and our guests, ate the cake we were blown away by the fabulous flavor! The communication was great in the beginning. I was able to pick up my tasting samples and take them home, the flavors were okay. So we picked marble cake and the cannoli chocolate chip with buttercream icing. When it came time to order you just submitted the order online via email which was really easy. I really wanted to love my cake I really did but the design was half-finished on the day of my wedding half of scroll work with missing on the top tier. The icing was beige/tan when we ask for white. when it came down to the way the cake actually tasted from piece to piece there was more icing than cake and the cannoli cream was barely existing. Thank God for my maitre d and some extra flowers. We were able to pull off the magic To make the cake with more appealing. I submitted a picture in the photos. It won't allow me to attach a photo....
