My husband and I spent a lovely afternoon seeing the indoor exhibits and will come back to listen to the interviews and "do" the outdoor self guided tour. The gift shop is a gem! Owen and Lindsey are knowledgeable and kind! This place is a must for anyone interested in the history of our nation--never mind Long Island History. The exhibit on Chicken Hill was well organized and relevant. We had no idea that the "minority" community included African Americans, immigrants from Lithuania, Russia, Poland, as well Native Americans and Jews. Neighbors helped each other.
