Vespa Italian Kitchen & Cocktails — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

Went on website it said they deliver I called. I spoke to a gentleman on the phone. He told me oh you can go to the website. I said to him I’m not very good at doing that. Can you help me with it? He said yes no problem put me through to a nice young lady. She took my order we talk. She didn’t really have no clue about what was on the menu or not so I had to talk to her. I had to tell her go ask Chef if they make this if they do that, this is what’s supposed to be on the menu you know or they should be able to do it she said OK give me a minute after a while. I waited on hold Came back. I said OK. This is this. This charge me a crazy ridiculous price for this stuff. I said you know what I’ll try it maybe it’s good. We’ll see went through all that she said OK when you come pick it up you could pay I said no take the credit. What do you mean pick it up I said you’re delivering it she goes. Oh we don’t deliver. I said what do you mean you don’t deliver you wasted all this time with me on the phone and you’re telling me now you don’t deliver after I was told you will and it says on your website you deliver. I then asked to talk to the manager. I talk to the manager and she was like just that right we don’t live. We don’t deliver. She had no clue. I told her we talked about her employees not being trained properly and not knowing what’s on the menu what to do she admitted that yes I know this but we’re a high-end place what kind of high-end place turns around A treats people like that all she needed to do she’s by the train station in Ronkonkoma as a taxi I even told her have the Taxi deliver. I’ll pay for it Call. She said that we do through Uber call Uber have them send it. I’ll pay for it. this woman running a restaurant like that is ridiculous. You know obviously to me if she doesn’t seem qualified enough to run a business and she’s gonna run a thing like that with bad customer service. I recommend That this place is not worth your time of day. It’s not only about maybe the food it isn’t nice. It’s all about the quality of service and the people that worked there. I don’t know what their problem was. I was very nice and they were not professional and I don’t think I could ever step foot in the place like that or recommend any of my friends to do so For that they are not even a one...

I have had the pleasure of trying Italian food all around the world from Rome to rural parts of Sicily to NYCs top spots - you name it. My fiancé and I happened to stumble into Vespa on the opening day (out of coincidence). The food did not disappoint, and the service was excellent. My only complaint was with the cocktails / bar.

For my entre I ordered the Polo tres colori. This was essentially chicken parm and pasta with 3 sauces - Vodka, Pesto, and Marinara. All the sauces, chicken, and pasta were very tasty. I wish I took a photo because the plating was immaculate. I could see this dish going viral on TikTok or something. My fiancé got the Tuna over vegetables which she also liked a lot.

For the drinks I started with the Mediterranean martini. It honestly just tasted like vodka shaken over ice. My fiancé got a different one that I can't recall, but it was a similar issue. I switched to beer after that, but my fiancé decided to try again with an espresso martini. I had a sip of that, and it was way off. Issue was they didn't have Kahlua or coffee liqueur at the bar (which is an essential ingredient IMO). To be fair it was opening day and this is an easy fix. I mentioned this to the server, and he gave us a generous amount off the bill which was appreciated.

Overall, it seems like this has potential to be one of the better spots in the area, and those small issues can be easily resolved. I will definitely be back and will update...

It’s with great pleasure that I post this well deserved review.

Been here several times and now routinely dine 2x a week because of the impeccable service and hospitality by several people who work here.

First, Sadie (please pardon if misspelled) is an outstanding manager that truly understands and relates to guests- she is the reason we became regulars here. Friendly, welcoming, professional and an absolute pleasure to talk to.

Servers, Lisa, Deanna, Michelle and Henry are outstanding- impressive attention to detail and so friendly, they make you want to come back again and again.

Food quality- amazing, consistent, fresh and with awesome eye appeal. High quality ingredients and with a menu that doesn’t feel like the typical LI Italian dishes that you can find anywhere that are fast casually prepared.

Rainbow cheesecake and gelatos are A+ and always fresh.

You folks are doing an amazing job serving the community and I want you to know how much we appreciate all that you do for us.

PS. The sausage pinwheel is AMAZING, now you know which Anthony wrote this review lol, at least Sadie does...
