Based on one breakfast and one dinner visit: To start out, parking lot when full has no options for street parking, you're out of luck. Atmosphere is dull and similar to a school cafeteria or fire hall, zero decor, square open space with no character. Service is EXTREMELY green with almost no training or experience. Breakfast is NOT close to original Stella's. Omelettes are overcooked with little flavor. Rye toast was small, flat and must have been sitting around. The bacon was the same, must have been cooked the day before or early in the morning, reheated several times as it was a hard solid, dark brown mass. When sent back, they sent out the same. Sausages are over cooked and have this very odd casing skin hanging off of them, was told by waitstaff that they changed brands! Went for dinner, waitress dropped her tablet on me (it happens) then dropped the salad dressing to my turkey club salad all over the table which went over the side of table on the coat sitting on seat. She seemed like it was her first day, was over the top apologetic, offered to pay for cleaning the coat and dinner bill (appreciated) but again, in dire need of training and supervision. Pepsi products are only available(as with the original Stella's), Coke products are much more popular with better offerings, quality. They were out of iced tea so ordered water. The salad was huge, but once again, the bacon bits were overcooked and hard as pebbles. The turkey is mushy and wet and unlike fresh cooked turkey. I am a regular Wolf St. Stella's customer and for a reason, the staff and food are high diner level and excellent, servers have a fun loving quirkiness and very fast. I am sorry to say that the new Stella's must make a quick turn around and have some attention payed to it, as it should be close to a cookie cutter of the original or it will fail terribly. It seems like it was a rushed start up, although it took forever to open, the staff was tossed in to cover duties with little to no training and is not being managed or supervised properly. They should put a manager on duty that goes around to tables making sure there are no issues and if so, correct them on the spot, that is not happening at all. Will not go back for awhile and hopefully things get ironed out, maybe this summer. Had my hopes up about this location, but sorry to say, totally...
Read moreI just wanted to get on here and write a review (On my sons account, My name is Tiffany) in which even though it's just a little diner I won't be able to fit the amount of thankfulness into it if I tried. I called the morning of burial services to see if they take group walk ins or would they be willing to take a reservation. 15-20 people afterwards. Other Local places were either booked due to unfortunate late notice or didn't open until later/dinner time, in which services were early and we had some immediate family in town who had to head back on the road. She assured me if I called 20 minutes ahead she'd be able to get something together. In which we did, 25 minutes later we arrived and the place was hopping, I was so nervous seeing limited space with a full crowd already. She took our name said we will be okay and she'll be right back. Within a short maybe 10 minute wait they had a long tabled area ready and a corner booth for the kids! Our server was wonderful! She was pleasant and patient and had her system down perfect! On top of sitting 18 people down the drinks were all served together, food came out in such timely manner again all at the same time, hot ,fresh and delicious !!! High five to the cooks, no long waiting or watching others eat while rest had to be made on top of being well made not dried out or rushed!Everyone was delighted. Our visit wasnt rushed, we had time to chat and enjoy our company even at such unfortunate time. Wasn't a traditional funeral luncheon but this morning couldnt have been better to celebrate my mom's life! I didn't get our servers name but shout out to her on doing so wonderful at her job, not knowing what it meant to just an ordinary group of family! Stella's Crew Thank you so much for...
Read moreThe Stella's Diner located near Destiny Mall has a very good reputation. We went there some years ago, but the line outside the door was so long we decided not to wait. So, we were happy to discover that they opened a second location near where we shop at Fairmount Fair. My wife and I both ordered the Stella breakfast sandwich which comes on Texas toast. I ordered mine with American cheese and sausage and my wife requested provolone and bacon. To begin on a positive note, the fried, over-medium eggs were cooked perfectly, and there were 2 per sandwich. However, the rest was not so good. The Texas toast was barely toasted on the outside and not toasted on the inside. The result was thick but fragile, doughy bread that had to be handled carefully to avoid it falling apart while attempting to eat the sandwich. After several bites of tasting only the bread, we decided to discard one of the slices and eat the rest open-faced. The next problem was the sausage. It was hard as a hockey puck and had a strange taste. The bacon was cold and limp. However, the taste was pretty good so we ate that and discarded the sausage. Finally the provolone was good but the American cheese had little flavor. The service was excellent. The server noticed that we were dissembling our sandwiches and offered to bring toasted English muffins to replace the bread if we wished. We declined, but appreciated the offer. Based on our experience, we recommend that the breakfast sandwich be ordered on a toasted English muffin with egg, crispy bacon, and provolone cheese. My thought is, if you request "crispy" bacon, maybe they'll put it back on the grill to reheat before they put it on...
