Aloha Krab Cajun Seafood & Bar — Restaurant in Town of Cheektowaga

UPDATE: i originally gave this a 4 star for the amazing food but horrible service. After my most recent experience, this place doesn't deserve any business. I placed an online order for 2 seafood boils for pickup. I had to call the place after 5 minutes becausr they never confirmed my order. I went to the restaurant after a some time and they handed me my order. After getting home, I realized that not only did I only receive just one boil, it wasn't even correct. The strangest part is that my first name and last initial was on the receipt. The boil listed in the receipt was a weird combination of both of the boils I ordered. The bag was stapled shut so I couldnt easily check while I was at the restaurant. I guess it's my fault for assuming they would be able to do their job correctly. I tried calling them but they wouldn't pick up. Once they did, they immediately hang up. I decided to get my refund through doordash since the restaurant would rather steal money from me.

This could've been a amazing 10/10 experience but it got soured by the terrible service. The food and atmosphere were great though.

We first entered and were greeted by the hostess who was also possibly the manager. We had reservations but we were not asked about one considering the restaurant was only about a quarter filled. We were seated very quickly and given menus to look over. Almost 30 minutes had pasted and no one came to take our order despite staff just standing around. We had to go up to the lady tending the bar and tell her we've been waiting. She assumed we were taken care of for some reason but immediately start taking our drink and food order. After taking our drink order, she asked "Do you need another minute to look over the food?". She was dead serious. It was pretty funny but we put our food order in and get our meals very quickly.

We ordered the snow crabs, dungeness crabs, black mussels, and crawfish. Everything tasted fresh and tasty. The sauces they cover all the food in were so flavorful. I was craving it the day after. The meals also came with corn and potatoes which were great as well.

The atmosphere is fun. A lot of cool decor to look at. I enjoy looking at the lobster man. The bathroom seem decently clean.

Overall a decent experience minus the horrendous wait in the beginning. The lady that eventually took our order seemed apologetic so I can't be that upset. I think I'll return in the near future and hopefully get that 10/10...

If you want to have fun, get messy, and also eat good, be sure to check out Aloha Krab! My brother has not experienced this type of restaurant in the past so I knew he would enjoy his experience. When you first walk in, you can almost taste the ocean breeze coursing through the establishment; with plenty of beach and ocean decor that really fits the theme of the restaurant. They present you with a table with paper coverings and an Arsenal of tools (bibs, a bucket, gloves etc.) in preparation for a unique dining experience. My brother and I went for the Aloha combo where we had snow crab legs, green mussels, and crawfish with a mix of potatoes and corn drenched in garlic butter (my brothers first Cajun experience so he didn’t want to go Spicy this time🌶🤦). When the food finally arrived, my brother’s eyes lit with excitement as the bagged plate of seafood made its way to our table. The food was beautifully seasoned in the garlic butter sauce which made everything in the bag salty and savory in the best of ways. You can see the pieces of garlic swimming in the swirl of golden butter once you’ve made your way to the bottom. The crabs were perfect; Aloha Krab also presented us with seafood tools to crack, pick, and pull even the toughest of shellfish. The crabs made its way in our mouths, settled in, and paid rent; easily the best thing we had in a while. Mussels were delicious as you can taste a bit of that ocean saltiness all whilst maintaining its tenderness. The crawfish however (in my own preference) didn’t really do well in garlic butter as I’m used to it being more on the spicy side but I digress. The corn and potatoes were superstars in their own right as it served well as compliments to the the highlights of the dish; playing a supportive role worthy of an encore. The food was amazing and didn’t leave anything on our plates when the battle was over. If you’re looking to fulfill that seafood craving, this place will definitely do that for you especially shellfish. The staff was very friendly and attentive making sure our drinks a filled to the brim and that we were taken care of. We did order an appetizer that got mixed up with another table which ended up being the last thing that got to us. We will be back for round 2 in the near future and maybe bring...

I HIGHLY recommend trying this place out for delicious fresh seafood! My friends and I decided to come here on a whim tonight. We both didn't have a reservation and went pretty late at night (for sure would recommend planning better than we did...) but Michael seated and served us right away. Our server Michael (who was probably also the manager of the place?) really enhanced the whole experience because he was so attentive and accommodating to us! There's even cute coloring pages for kids to keep busy!

We did the Pick Your Catch and got 2lbs snow crab legs, a lobster tail, and 1lb head off shrimp. We also got hush puppies as an appetizer to share and honestly for 3 people all of that food was more than enough to share and we were very satisfied. It all came out to about $80 total which was a great deal in my opinion! The seafood itself was steaming hot (literally) and tasted soo fresh. We chose the Aloha special sauce which was perfectly seasoned and so flavorful and I'd definitely recommend at least trying it out, it really enhances the food well.

The service was fast, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, the place was well-decorated and overall had a good casual atmosphere. It will definitely get messy but they give you bibs, gloves, tools and plenty of napkins. It's a great place to get together with some friends or on a date night because you're forced to not go on your phones since your hands get so messy lol

Overall we had a wonderful experience and it's definitely not your average boring meal, will definitely...
