My husband and I decided to go to Texas de Brazil today on a complete whim as it's the only restaurant at the Galleria Mall that we didn't try yet. From the start to the finish of our experience, I can say without a doubt, this is the best dining experience (food and service wise) that I've ever had and we just ate at the Buffalo Chop House last week!!
We accidentally entered around 2:40 because we didn't realize it wasn't open yet. The lady at the counter was a sweetheart and took our names for the waitlist and allowed us a seat at the bar to wait for opening. No bad feelings or anything, just absolutely accommodating and wonderful. Then the bartender was a complete sweetheart and made us the BEST Brazilian lemonades that we've ever had! Try Strawberry and Passionfruit! We loved them. She even offered to take a photo for us with our drinks!
Read moreI contacted them to book a dinner party for after my wedding. Waited, and never heard a response, so I resent the form. Again waited and never heard a response. So I called the restaurant. The man told me I had to do it online, I informed him I had. Twice. And that I hadn't heard anything. He looked me up, and was like, oh, you did. I'll have them send you the email and packages today, but I am going to put in the reservation for your party since it is now only about a week and a half away. So I waited and checked my email, and received nothing. I called every day from that day until 2 days before the reservation and FINALLY was able to get an actual person again. (I was just getting voicemails, which I was leaving every day to get them to contact me). The person told me that he had a note that said I had received the email with packages that day (I had not). So then he told me that they would send the email over asap. I received an email that said thanks for choosing Texas de Brazil, we offer parties from these times (times that very differed from the time the man and I set the reservation at) and that attached was the party package menu. Nothing was attached to the email. So I emailed back to the address, and tried calling them back and it again went to voicemail (these calls are to their main phone, and during business hours, so why aren't they picking up). Frustrated and with literally no time left I had to scramble and figure out somewhere else we could go after the wedding (it was only 15 of us, and a low key wedding so it wasn't a gigantic grand affair). The next day I received a call from the manager asking to confirm my reservation. I laughed and told him the entire story and told him that I had to make other plans, that I couldn't wait around any longer and play these games, I needed to get something set for my wedding. He was extremely apologetic, told me he was going to look into it, and that they would make it right. I have not received any communication with them since. My wedding was a month ago. I don't have my hopes up to hear anything from them ever. Disappointing and unprofessional...
Read moreBoth my husband and I love this chain and if we find one in the cities we travel to, we try to make it part of our culinary experience. This particular branch is closest to where we live and as you can imagine, we frequent it quite often. It's a pricey choice but well worth the experience. It's a meat-lovers haven and if you're going there for the first time... take the meat option. Go hungry because it's very filling. Hydrate well. If you really want to experience the meats, I'd say minimize the salad bar visit because you can easily fill up on that. Over the years I've chosen to go salad bar only because unfortunately my stomach could not do justice to the meat feast. However, Please note, the salad bar is just as filling. My go-to's are the lobster bisque, potato au gratin and sautéed mushrooms. Also the mozzarella cheese, smoked salmon, and assortment of other salads. A big plus are the sides they bring endlessly to the table: garlic mashed potatoes, cheesy bread and a divine cinnamon sugar crusted plantain dish. I tend to fill my stomach on the bread and plantains. Oh so good!!
This time around we had an unusual experience. I'm allergic to shrimp and unfortunately, someone accidentally moved the utensil for taking the salmon and placed it on the shrimp plate. So I let the server know and she immediate brought me my own tongs if I wanted to get the salmon later. The manager took the time to check on me and even offered to open a brand new bag of salmon just in case the one on the bar was contaminated!!! How thoughtful and kind!
Also..shout-out to the server in training... Lionel. What a breath of fresh air... so personable, polite and upbeat! I hope he stays because the next time we're there, we're asking for him.
If you haven't ever tried churrascaria...Texas de Brazil is the place to...
