This is my first time posting a review of food I've ordered from a restaurant. I don't like to leave reviews for food whether I like it or not. I either keep ordering from a place if I like it or never go again if I don't. I am doing it now because of how bad the food we ordered was. I ordered chicken Mongolian style and pork fried rice. I made through 4 bites and threw it all away. The Mongolian chicken tasted like pure cumin right from spice shaker. This isn't what Mongolian dishes are supposed to taste like. The chicken also had a mushy texture and was inedible for me. The only thing that topped how awful the chicken was the pork in the fried rice. It was rubbery and gelatinous. It didn't taste or feel like any pork I'd ever eaten. My wife tried it and instantly said yuck and she was done eating also. I'm getting so depressed with these local restaurants raising prices and lowering quality of food and think they should do great. I know quality meat and ingredients and this place doesn't use any. They're probably a sushi restaurant that doesn't have any clue how to cook other asian dishes. We spent 70 dollars for takeout from Asia Nation and it's already been taken out to the garbage. I'm so frustrated spending all that money for garbage. Never again will I trust this place or any other of these local chili places. I can only hope these places are put out...
Read moreI went to Asia Nation and got the chicken cutlet bento lunch special to go. Service was quick, the restaurant was clean and modern, and the wait staff were very friendly.
When I opened it up it looked amazing, presentation was great, nice color on the chicken and a great smell on the sauce. However, there were several aspects of the meal that was disappointing.
The soup had a great miso flavor and the right toppings, but I found what I assumed were bonito flakes still in the soup, which added a weird, tough texture; typically they're strained out.
The sushi rolls were falling apart. I don't know if the rice was too warm when they made it or what, but the seaweed was falling a part and the rolls came apart as I tried to pick them up.
The rice was too dry, not fluffy like I would expect.
The worst was the chicken. Half the chicken was rubbery, as if it was overcooked. I didn't even finish it. The sauce and the breading was great, but the texture of the chicken was unappetizing.
Overall, the flavors were on point but the issues I had today left something to be desired. Hopefully they'll improve, or maybe I just had a one-off experience. Based on the reviews so far, I hope...
Read moreGreat new addition to the Chili Plaza! My friend and I dined here and it was overall a really enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is really nice, place is clean, and the staff were very attentive. I like that their water seemed to be lemon infused, which was very refreshing. The food here was also good, I got the Chicken Lomein and my friend got their Broccoli and Chicken. The portion sizes here are very generous and the flavor is very good! I liked that the lomein was slightly sweet, it lead to a very nice sweet and savory flavor. We also tried the sushi here, and were a bit disappointed. I got a crunchy spicy salmon roll and I didn’t really get any heat. My friend got the chicken tempura and the roll was very big and a bit flavorless. I think if they updated their menu to be more detailed about each roll and what they entail might be helpful. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and we will be back to...
