I ordered Enchiladas La Bandera with a side order of sour cream. I ordered on line and I got the confirmation of what I ordered but no indication of when it would be ready. It was on Friday, 7pm, so I waited a half hour before I called the restaurant to check on my order and ask when will I know when its ready? The person answering the phone checked and stated it was ready so I went to pick it up. I got to the restaurant and waited several minutes at the front desk hoping someone would come and acknowledge me. I was surprised that for a Friday night, the place was not busy at all. Anyway, no one came and since I noticed a bag with food by the cash register, I looked, and it indeed was my order. I took it and when I got home I discovered the "side salad" was shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and it had a tbsp of sour cream on top of that. Is that my side order I paid $2 for? I at least thought it would be in a small plastic container. Anyway, I thought the whole thing was more topping for my enchiladas, which were rather dry with no sauce on top - just a square piece of melted cheese. I was excited to try this place as I had heard so many people rave about it. However, that was not my experience at all. The food was so-so and I have had much better at Chipotle and Mesquitte Grill. Looking forward to trying Monte Alban. But for now, I will be taking my...
Read moreBring a book and a water bottle. I wanted to love this place but………… I have been here three times now since they opened and wanted to really give them a chance before I left a review. The first time I went the server spoke almost no English, she really struggled with taking our order and we waited about 45 minutes for food but the street tacos we got were great! The second time, a completely different server spoke very little English, we waited about 30 minutes for drinks and almost an hour for food and didn’t even get what we ordered. The food was just ok that time around. The third time we got a server who spoke English well so we thought this time around we were in luck. Well… there was only one other table… we waited about 15 minutes for drinks and 30 minutes for our food and I didn’t get what I ordered, the server however noticed it was wrong and quickly rushed back to the kitchen to have them make the correct order. The food was decent but then a table of 8 sat down and we instantly became invisible. We waited another 20 minutes for our check. If you want to give them a chance make sure you have about 2 hours to spare and don’t plan on getting more than one drink, not once did any server ask if we wanted another beverage. The food seems to be hit or miss, not sure...
Read more2nd time here. 1st time was just after they received liquor license. Both times was underwhelmed. 2nd time was on Cinco de Mayo, and they were definitely overwhelmed in the bar and kitchen. I ordered a medium Margarita and some tacos and the bill came to $33! I tip ok and bam! 1 drink, 3 smallish tacos and there's $40? The 1st time we went it was 1 drink apiece, 1 entree each and the bill (again with decent tip cause I don't blame servers) was over $100! Also... could they spare the rice and beans? Picture doesn't do it justice, it was maybe 4 tablespoons of rice and 3 tbs beans spread very thin on the plate (that's not a full size plat, closer to saucer size) If you're going to charge $16 for tacos, give a decent plate and some sauces on the table for choice, they came out very dry. Won't be going back, especially with Monte Alban opening up soon to give them competition. You need to address repeat complaints from reviews to make your...
