As someone with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I believe I’m well-qualified to share an honest and constructive opinion about this place.
First impressions were good — the location offers ample parking, and there’s a nice terrace to enjoy during pleasant weather. The interior is decent, and a Ferrari parked inside certainly adds a unique touch.
I visited on a Friday evening around 7:30 PM, walked in and sat at the bar, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The male bartender quickly offered me a drink, which was a good start. They have a solid selection of beers.
However, I wasn’t offered a menu nor asked if I wanted to have dinner. About 15 minutes in, I asked him for a menu while he was pouring draft beer, but either he didn’t hear me or chose to ignore the request. I realized this only several minutes later when no menu arrived. I had to ask again before finally receiving one.
I ordered the Bonacci pizza with kalamata olives on the side. In the meantime, I finished my first beer, and no one checked in to offer another. The male bartender, responsible for bar guests, seemed focused solely on a friend of his sitting at the bar. On the other hand, a female bartender — apparently handling server drinks — noticed my empty bottle and kindly offered me a second beer.
When the pizza arrived, the olives were on the pizza instead of on the side, as I had requested. The dough was good, but the pizza was overly oily. There was barely a few slices of prosciutto, while the olives were actually too abundant — not balanced at all.
After finishing my second beer, once again no one checked in to see if I wanted another drink. The male bartender spent most of his time on his phone, occasionally stepping into the kitchen and coming back out eating something — not a great look for someone working behind the bar. He continued chatting with his friend while ignoring the rest of the guests. Eventually, I managed to catch him during another draft pour and asked for one more beer, which he served without enthusiasm.
There didn’t appear to be any manager present on the floor. No one was supervising the quality of food or drinks coming out of the kitchen or bar, and no one (except the female bartender, who twice asked if everything was alright) checked in to see if guests were satisfied.
Prices were reasonable, beer was served at a good temperature, and the restroom was clean — but the overall experience was just okay, at best.
Lastly, a serious concern: nearly every driver I saw leaving had been drinking alcohol inside the venue. It wouldn’t hurt to have a police presence nearby checking for DUI violations. That kind of risk is something the venue should be mindful of.
I’m not typically picky, and I rarely write reviews, but this place clearly lacks proper management. It needs someone to ensure that staff are doing their jobs professionally and that guests receive the kind of service any paying customer deserves. It has potential, but currently, it falls short — mostly due to inattentive, unprofessional service...
Read moreWhere do I start? We'd read all the great reviews about this place so we decide to stop there for some pizza. First, it's cool that they have an expensive car inside but, it's not cool that it's so loud inside that you can't have a normal conversation without raising your voice. We found the quietest table we could and looked over the menu. We learned from our waitress that they use garlic very heavily in the pizza and almost everything else, so that's a problem for anyone with a garlic sensitivity. My wife decided to order a chicken salad instead and I ordered a burger cooked medium. Our food was served in about 10 minutes, not enough time to properly cook a burger. Sure enough, my burger was burned on the outside but raw inside. I sent the burger back and told them again, cook it medium. My wife could find only two very small pieces of chicken in her chicken salad despite looking for it, so she sent the salad back and ordered a burger. My new burger came out and, while it wasn't cooked medium, it was close enough to be edible. My wife's burger came out shortly after that and it was burned on the outside but raw inside, and I mean RAW, as in uncooked. Some other customers saw how raw it was and said it was disgusting. The waitress came over, saw the raw burger, sent it back, and reordered a new burger. So, jokingly, we said, how much worse can it get? Well, we got our answer shortly after that when my wife's new burger came out and, like before, it was burned on the outside but still raw inside, as in uncooked. We sent that burger back, the manager came over, apologized, and didn't charge us for any of the bad food. It's really sad that a place like this can't hire chefs who can cook a basic burger properly in spite of numerous attempts. I couldnt make this stuff up if I wanted to. There's absolutely no excuse for the raw food they tried to serve us. This was our first time here and DEFINITELY...
Read moreFerrari Pizza Bar, great food, loud atmosphere.
Don’t judge too quickly, to each his/her own! The food is usually good here and the whole family can enjoy this local joint. The prices do tend to run a little steep, so it’s not your best budget friendly option for those looking for a frequent stop list for a family of four.
To me, there are other local places that are more worth the money when you consider the five basic things most people are personally looking for-- atmosphere, cleanliness, food, service and cost.
The atmosphere is great if you want that Bar, TV, Music happening vibe—but for our families ideal social atmosphere—it’s just too much. The restaurant appears clean and well maintained and also offers an outdoor dining option.
The service has been friendly and somewhat accommodating (for the most part), but special requests are often costly and not what you would hoped for. For example; my daughter asked if she could be made a simple BLT sandwich and was quickly told and enthusiastic, “yes!” She then received one piece of bacon on stale bread with zero mayo and a ton of oiled lettuce with zero tomatoes—they charges us for a full and expensive sandwich wrap and were unwilling to make adjustments to her sandwich or the bill. As someone who loves to tour and compare local Rochester restaurants, I was not impressed with that standard of service, especially from a place with the capability of meeting such a simple request.
This being said, (I will always leave an honest review) their pizza is good and if you stick to their menu--you will leave happy and satisfied.
3 out of 5 because of our service experience
Nearly 20$ a person if you add drinks...
