I am so thrilled to finally have a middle eastern restaurant on this side of town! I have been to Falafel Aleppo twice. Today I ordered the mix grilled plate which is a great option if you’re looking to sample a variety of flavors. It comes with lamb gyro, marinated grilled chicken, beef kofta, crispy falafel, hummus, garlic sauce (so good!!) and pita, topped with flavorful sautéed onions and tomatoes. I really liked that each meat had a different seasoning and flavor of its own, and it all tasted delicious together too. Everything was cooked perfectly and the portion of the plate was very generous! The staff was friendly and eager to explain the beautiful variety of desserts in the case. The baklava was crispy and light on top with a layer of chopped nuts underneath—very delicious, you can’t leave without a dessert! All I can say is I can’t wait to come back and try everything else on...
Read moreI'm really happy that a place like this is in Chili. I had halal food frequently when I was living in Philly.
Unfortunately, the food here was not good. I ordered beef shawarma, which I had thought was supposed to be in a pita or wrap, but came over rice instead. I was the only customer, and it was around 5 pm on a Saturday. The beef was definitely made fresh, but it was horrible. Most of it was completely burnt. Any pieces that weren't burnt were so chewy I couldn't eat them. So I ate the (under seasoned) rice and 'salad', which was just cabbage, shredded carrots, and onions (bottom of the bag of salad mix, apparently).
I'm definitely disappointed, especially considering the price of the dish I ordered. Also, their menu needs to be a little more clear on the descriptions - their old menu did, but not...
Read moreFood is delicious every time I come here which is relatively habitual. I cannot find better falafel in or around rochester so far, and the spices they put on their baba and hummus is top tier. Typically get the falafel plate, only thing I would add apart from the food being the best halal I have had around here, born and raised, is if you are calling in a falafel plate, unless it’s specified what it comes with, there’s a chance you could get the rice/salad plate instead of the hummus/baba/dolmades/tabbouli instead. Great environment, extremely friendly people making the food, if you like halal food and are going someplace close to rochester Falafel Aleppo is a...
