IHOP — Restaurant in Town of Clarkstown

I GIVE THIS IHOP A 1 STAR FOR JUST THE BUILDING STANDING ON ITS OWN. WHEN U HAVE HAD THE BEST THIERS NOTHING LEFT WHEN IT COMES TO THIS SPRING VALLEY LOCATION IT WAS DECENTLY A SPRING IN THE VALLEY AND WE AS A FAMILY FELT LIKE WE JUST WENT OVERBOARD STEPPING INSIDE.FIRST UP IT WAS EMPTY AT 9AM SO WE THOUGHT TO OURSELVES AT LEAST WE CAN EAT NOR WERE STARVING RIGHT (WRONG) ON A FATHER'S DAY OUT WE WAITED AN HOUR AND A HALF WITH ONLY 6 CUSTOMERS IN THIS HUGE PLACE.THEN WHEN WE FINALLY GOT FOOD,IT WASN'T RIGHT,IT WASN'T ALL OF WHAT WE ORDERED.I THE WIFE OF THE DAD NEVER RECIE ED FOOD UNTIL 2HRS LATER WHICH TASTED LIKE SOMEONE COOKED IT IN A MICROWAVE.THE HASH BROWNS WAS LIKE EATING FRIED HEY,BACON TASTED LIKE I WAS EATING CARDBOARD AND WHAT MAKES THIS SO BAD IT WAS FATHER'S DAY I GOT SICK AFTER THE LITTLE BIT OF FOOD I TASTED WHICH WAS THE WRING ORDER.THE WAITRESS WAS LYING LIKE A CAB DRIVER TELLING U THIERS GONNA BE THIERS IN 5 MINUTES NOT IT TURN INTO AN HOUR.THIS WAS HOUR AFTER ANOTHER WE CAME FROM QUEENS WE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS B4.THIS PLACE WASN'T READY FOR HIGH VOLUME.THE WAITRESS DIDN'T REME,MBER WHO ORDERED WHAT.THE SERVICE WAS TERRIABLE.WE SPOKE TOO THE MANAGER SHE WAS LIKE A DINGBAT SHE BLAMED THE BAD TASTING MEALS ON THE WAITRESS AND ALL OF THE DISORGANIZED THINGS THAT WERE GOING ON with EVERYONE THIERS IT WAS A CRAZY EXPERIENCE. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A REALITY SHOW FOR HACK THAT CHIEF WITH THE I HOP THAT SHOULD HAVE HOPED OFF THE EDGE OF THE EARTH.THE WORST.THEN THEY COLLECT MONEY WITH PEOPLE CURSING GOING OUT THE DOOR SAYING THIS IS THE FIRST NIGHT LAST THEY WILL EVER GO TO THIS IHOP AGAIN.WE GOT ON THAT LINE OUT THE DOOR.CAN'T BELIEVE ON...

Staff was very friendly, but grilled chicken dinner was awful. It's not grilled, it's GRIDDLED & was too salty, rubbery & wet as opposed to moist. 😝 Online order said meal was $8.99 with 1 piece of chicken, but it was after 7pm so online orders were no longer available. I called @ 732pm to make a phone order & they were more than happy to take it telling me just to call if the door was locked when I arrived...website said they're open till 8pm, but I got there around 740pm & was 1st told they were closed, but permittedin when they learnedI'dordered take-out...again, the staff were delightful! When making my order & asked if I'd like 1 or 2 pieces, which I didn't see was an option online, I opted for 2 thinking I'd save the 2nd piece for lunch the next day plus asked to add chocolate chips to the pancakes it comes with, knowing both would be an extra charge, but never expecting a $2+ charge for the chips or for the entire bill for that entree to total $20 & change for just ONE inedible meal from IHOP...I forced my way thru half a piece of chicken & couldn't bear to eat another bite. The spinach, in turn, was bland and wild rice tasted like it came out of an Uncle Ben's box. I wasn't anticipating a 4 star meal, but for 20 bucks I certainly expected more. Very disappointing. Food was alright. Nothing too amazing. The eggs are mediocre. The pancakes were ok and the sausages were some kind of weird spicy. The new Mexican churro pancakes were tremendously filled with cinnamon where it was just cinnamon and the churro were gross and hard. It's a decent place overall if you're looking for a quick bite to eat. Had some of the roasted Turkey and it was ok. Mashed potatoes were good everything else was passable, maybe sub par if we are being honest . The milkshakes were NOT good. Lacking good thickness and flavor. It had more of a liquid consistency, leaning less towards a shake or slush, and more towards a smoothie and the whip cream was sad. The service was ok. They forgot to refill waters and all, but there seemed to be only 2 people working to be fair so they tried all the while. It's usually really slow, and lunch is not worth it here less you're looking at...
