Noches de Colombia has been a long-standing favorite spot for many, including us. However, it seems that the once beloved restaurant has lost its charm. On a recent visit to the Nanuet location, our anticipation was met with sheer disappointment.
Despite the swift arrival of our orders within mere minutes, my experience quickly soured when my much-anticipated Mar Y Tierra Surf and Truff arrived. The dish bore no resemblance to the enticing picture in the menu. Instead, it comprised a meager portion of skirt steak, barely four inches long, accompanied by a paltry offering of four shrimp, three slices of plum tomato, and a trifling three tostones. All this for a staggering $29.
Furthermore, a cursory glance at the other dishes on our table revealed a disheartening uniformity, as if each had been hastily assembled on a soulless production line, lacking the care and finesse that once defined the establishment. My appetite remained unfulfilled, and I departed with an unsettling mix of hunger and disillusionment.
It appears that Noches de Colombia's eagerness to expand has come at the cost of compromising the quality and attention to detail that once made it a standout. Regrettably, it seems that the restaurant has veered drastically downhill. In light of this disappointing experience, I must advocate exploring other Colombian dining options, perhaps seeking out a humble mom-and-pop establishment where authentic flavors and care are paramount, and where one can enjoy a satisfying meal at a fraction of the cost.
Noches de Colombia, you have some soul-searching to do if you wish to reclaim the glory that once defined your...
Read moreThere are quite a number of these restaurants all over, simply Google the name, and you'll find one. Prices vary by area, as well as the service. Rated the overall experience a 4.1. If you are hungry the servings are more than enough, and pricey. They have a bar that serves different types of drinks/ beers by the pitcher or glass, natural juices, again pricey. Our server was on point, very attentive. The music over the speaker was very loud. There was a huge smart TV in our dining room in case your into sports. Started with a glass of wine, mojito, and a rum and coke. We ordered pan de bono ( cheese bread) these are warm, and heavenly. They are too delicious. Be careful you can fill up on these quickly. Had the mini empanadas ( tiny beef patties) fresh, hot, delicious. The guacamole was made fresh at the table, lacked a little flavor even though we ordered 5 out of the 6 ingredients, no jalapeño peppers. Main course had a crispy, delicious, big red snapper with salad, and a bandeja paisa (typical Colombian Regional platter)with rice/ beans, 3 types of meat, egg, avocado, asked for the steak well done and it was not, returned it You will not starve with this plate, good for 2 people. Also had a breaded chicken with rice/ beans which covered practically the plate. Had a Colombian style skirt steak, tender/ delicious. The server made the experience pleasant, and enjoyable. I'd probably come back. Check your bill they include the tip...
Read moreHate to do this bc the FOOD IS GREAT but I was there 5/27/22 right before their rush dinner hr and there were some changes. I feel imo that the management prefer to hire their staff over looks over experience staff, the young strawberry blond hair hostess def needed more training (I been a hostess my self so don’t come for me) not only was she not welcoming but I’m sorry the way she arrange poc that night was just straight up bad, the waiter for their table was so bad kept making mistakes n was not polite, spilled soda on them and made a mess in the floor and has to get a mop to clean it up. I felt bad for them and everyone was just looking around at the staff awkwardly. Their whole automatic 20% tip is messed up as well, specially if their staff is rude. I told the hostess we r a party of 4 and sat us in a table of 6 which was uncomfortable for us with all the space. A.C was blasting and our food got cold, but we ate bc it’s good. Menus changed btw not a lot of selection but I get it maybe it was not to overwhelm the kitchen maybe hope it works out thou, our waitress for the night was polite n was ok, the older tall gentleman waiter is always very nice at least to us thou hope to see him next time. So yea in conclusion please hire more experience staff and professional as well, don’t get me wrong I am always a 20% tipper bc I’m always going with a party of 4 or 3 but please that shouldn’t be the norm if the staff is...
