Hey Matt, remember trick-or-trade Pokémon booster packs two or three years ago? your store bought them all out and we’re charging upwards over $40 per pack that retailed at 17.99 when I went in.….
The short young male employee that’s usually at the front used to be at the target every single Wednesday in Spring Valley on restock day buying everything he could- I saw him on the prismatic release day….
I tried to trade in Giratina alt art from lost origins back when it was only a $300 card and I got offered $75. No whitening with great centering….
Looking at your other low reviews it’s seems that others have had similar experiences and feedback.
Maybe you just took over but clearly you can’t handle criticism from guests.
This place always surprises me how they stay in business.
I ordered an item around Christmas time that I sent back because I happen to find it locally in the store. I never received my refund and I had to dispute it through PayPal because they claimed they never received the product back. It was an item exclusive to Kohl’s that they bought all the local stock up because they knew it would be popular around Christmas time.
In this location They charge way over market for items that are dropping in stores at the same time. They are feeding into the scalper mentality.
Iv also seen one of their employees trying to buy out all of the local target pokemon and other TCG stock claiming it was for their “kid”. I’ve heard from other local stores like GameStop that they do this all the time.
Being that they sell TCG products, they shouldn’t be going to the local retail stores and purchasing everything out to sell it for three times MSRP when other collectors don’t even have a shot at it.
When trading items they offer you a laughable amount 30 to 40% sometimes of what the item is worth for them to sell it at 120% to someone else.
I don’t spend any more money with this business since I work extremely hard for my money and everything in this economy cost way too much. I would reconsider making a purchase with them if you’re looking for products...
Read moreI would like to start by saying that ToyWiz used to be a great store . Back in the day around 2018-2019. It seems since covid hit they lost a bit of there love for the customer. now I would not suggest this place unless its to buy some figurines. There customers service is appalling if you want to buy any tcg products. With lazy employees and a lack of enthusiasm for the things that they sell. Cost of single cards & sealed products are at least 20% more expensive than market value. What normally cost 40 dollars can be 48-50 bucks at ToyWiz. Effectively running the customer out of the door when they don’t have anything you need. They tend to attract there victims with enticing deals on new products sales but will shortly shift prices for profit. Multiple times have I traveled long distances to buy tcg products (as there warhammer products are somehow more expensive than game’s workshop’s website) just to be sorely disappointed. That either they have no products or worst that asking them to get said products is like draining blood from a child. How do you tell someone “I cant sell you a product because we are busy” but it’s Friday afternoon (around 2-4 pm est) and there’s is maybe 6 customer in store at best. Mind you that they finished expanding from the tiny but much better store in 2020. A store that housed a maybe 20 people cramped can now hold 100 yet now its tougher to work with double the employees. Excuses. The only good I have to say is that the young red headed kid maybe in his late teens is a respectable enthusiastic salesman with and eye for tcg products. The only boon in a store full of woes. Dont buy here. Ps. Screw your website next time you send a customer to make an online email list to sell products you have in-store you might just have sent that customer to tcgplayer. Because they, don’t mind selling...
Read moreDONT BUY POKEMON HERE. Read carefully and beware of the ripoff.
Prices NOT even close to market prices. I was told by the employee that they sell cards over the counter with THE COST OF SHIPPING factored in, "because you can't find it for market price anywhere without shipping factored in." I've never encountered someone as incompetent in this hobby as at this shop.
They wanted $4.99 for a Great Tusk SVPromo #072 listed at 0.77 cents on TCG, with recent sales between 0.50 and $1.00. "Best I can do is take off a dollar."
50% to 100% markup on all cards in the display case. 519% on the card in my example.
Where's the BOSS? Your storefront employees need training. Call or visit any other store and prove to me that they sell cards as high as they do here, "because the charge for shipping is included."
Called other locations on speakerphone to prove my point. Even when he was proven wrong, he chose to die on his highhorse, still asking for the ridiculous price.
UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: I see by your response that you might believe in market price, but your employees do not when you aren't there. I was insulted and my intelligence was attacked. Your employees truly believe that the for sale price is market plus shipping. EVERY CARD IS OVERPRICED and that employee defended his mistake to the bitter end. I easily drop $500 to $1k each time I visit a store and asked about potentially buying 1000s of cards... but I was...
