Tappan Zee Hotel — Hotel in Town of Clarkstown

The place isn't bad at all for the price. The couple that runs the place is very nice and willing to accommodate you but the other employees are bot friendly at all. The skinny repair guy is cool and a good worker. There is one thing I must bring up. I've stay about 17 days in a 35 day span and every single night I must have killed anywhere from 7-13 fruit flys. They either come from the drain or the cracks in the ceiling and they drive my wife and me absolutely nuts. Had to eat with our cell phone lights directly shining on our Food each meal to make sure they didn't land in our meals (which we provided. No meals included but no problem.) We bring our own cleaning supplies in hopes that the flys will dissipate but no luck. Also very itchy from the blankets but it could be the flys getting to us while we sleep. The ceilings MUST BE REDONE. TOO MANY CRACKS IN DROP CEILING. I don't want to talk bad about the place because it is great for a short stay espically for the price as well as it being pet friendly. Once in a while, not often there is some noise outside from other people staying there but not bad. And if you're like me, I police myself and tell them to be quiet if it's late at night. Had an issue with the AC and they did attempt to accommodate us by moving us to a different room but it was a room with two small beds when it was just my wife and myself so we stayed in the room for the night without the air conditioner and they came and fixed it by replacing the old by replacing the old one with a brand new unit which only took about 10 minutes tops. One other thing is the Wi-Fi is terrible but please don't let these things discourage you from staying here, it is a great place and is right across from the Palisade Mall and very close to any kind of Supermarket or General stores. Not to mention the prices are great. Hope anyone who stays here has a good experience. I highly recommend doing the ceiling over it will definitely get rid of the Flies I believe. If it's not the ceiling they must be coming...

The front desk father/son duo were talking to each other in their language without acknowledging us when we came to check. We had already booked online and all we needed was a key. They don't have a bathroom in the ofc... so WE HAD TO WAIT TO GET A ROOM KEY! WHICH WAS PAINSTAKINGLY A LONG WAIT! WE HAD TO SAY CANCEL THE ROOM BC I COULDN'T WAIT ANY LONGER FOR THEM TO FINISH THE CONVERSATION. AND CLEARLY IF WE BOOKED ONLINE IT SHOULD ALREADY BE IN THE SYSTEM! I WAS WALKING TO THE DOOR SAYING I CAN'T WAIT ANOTHER SECOND FOR A BATHROOM... & CLEARLY YOU CAN'T JUST LOOK ON COMPUTER TO GIVE US THE KEY TO A ROOM... SO I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO LEAVE AND FIND A BATHROOM AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT...AND ILL GET A DIFFERENT HOTEL RM! Even though that got him to finally stop talking to his father... but the process of looking at the reservation online, give us a key, and sarcastically take a few more minutes.... I literally had to grab the key and run up a flight of stairs... down a hallway...to the room! It's NOT a hotel you want to go to to relax after traveling or to get rest and peace! It's higher priced than a few nicer hotels in the area... and most aren't...

Rude staff! WiFi doesn’t work anywhere in the place no matter what they say. The sheets stink and the room smell also. It sounds like bashing, but it’s the truth!

After posting this message I stayed at the Nyack motor lodge which now changed it's name to the tappan zee hotel. It was probably for obvious reasons. The conditions did improve somewhat and I stayed for about 2-3 weekends for about two days each time. Last weekend the hotel staff questioned me about a complaint that I made. Probably the above review here. He basically told me that I would be "blacklisted" if anything else was to happen. Which nothing did. He literally just out of the blue made that up to provoke a problem.

I suspect they're going to attemtp to contact the stony point budget motor inn and other hotels to tell lies about me. I'm not sure what behind it as Im a good customer that never bothers anyone. Blacklisting is illegal and punishable by law. Do not waste your money here. The customer is always right motto doesnt apply here. I'll give you an update on the...
