Nanuet Hotel — Restaurant in Town of Clarkstown

I grew up in Rockland and always heard about the amazing pizza at the Nanuet Hotel, but somehow missed out on getting down there. I finally went. Not only does the pizza live up to the hype, it goes way, way beyond. This is truly an artisan pizza with the most tasty crust I have had worldwide. The cheese is of the highest quality and there’s the perfect balance of cheese and sauce. I tried other things on the menu, sure they couldn’t be good at everything. Wrong. Chicken soup, for me is pretty flavorless. Not a go to, but Nanuet Hotel’s chicken soup is disarmingly flavorful and the perfect comfort food when you’re having a tough day. Their chicken Caesar wrap is delicious as is their yummy potato salad. Wings—superb. Everything top notch. They have outdoor seating and heating to accommodate these covid days. The staff is shockingly gracious and caring. Shout out to Elena, the loveliest and most caring. server ever. Love this place. Let’s all support this great establishment in these hard times. They do takeout for those isolating during covid and they package well. I regret I missed out on the Nanuet Hotel all these years.but am wonderfully surprised to find it’s now a favorite of mine in Rockland. Management there is also lovely. We all have needs. There are things that our carbon-based existence requires for sustenance. Maybe I'll say the same thing again in different words for the third time. Maybe I won't and I will address the question you are asking yourself right now that sounds like, " Why am I reading this?" Well, because Nanuet Hotel is what I need. It is at once an old, wood-paneled bar (replete with rosy faced women and drunk guys named Ed) and an epic pizza joint that also promises some of the best bad for you food that you could ever need. I'm talking wings, sticks, skins, burgers, and all of the other food that goes well with cheap beer and a football game (or do I mean soccer...?)

This is a Nanuet staple. A classic. A landmark here. This means that no one else knows about it outside of the county line, but when you are inside our super county of Rockland, you can find no other place to get what you really need. Arrived at 1:20pm today (a Sunday) ordered a simple pizza half pepperoni + meatball/half cheese, and three waters. It took 40 minutes for the pizza to arrive with the waitress never checking in on us until after the pizza came to the table. There were a total of 4 tables in our section. Two were larger totaling 7 people at one table, 9 at the other and then our table of 3 and one table of 2. It should not take this long for a simple simple order. With every table inquiring on the status of their orders. If the pizza was going to take a moment communication was needed from the wait staff.
