Our experience at Texas Longhorn restaurant was enjoyable except for one very uncomfortable situation. I will start off with the good which the visit mostly was. We got their and it was a full house but we only had to wait about 15 minutes. Once seated our waitress wasted no time getting our drinks and appetizers and was very friendly and attentive. We did have to wait a bit longer then I would have liked for our dinner but like I said it was a full house so I understood. The food was excellent and cooked exactly how we asked. I had the steakhouse burger medium and it was cooked perfect and the fries are some of the best I had. My wife had a full rack of ribs and they were tender and fell off the bone deliciously. Also the rack of ribs was huge and we had more than enough to bring home for later. Now the only blemish on our dining experience took place right as we were being seated. The hostess who could have been no older than 17 or 18 probably her first job was being scolded by the manager in front of waiting guest and her fellow employees. I did not get this managers name because he had no name tag otherwise I would put it on blast all over. He was on the short stocky side and bald. Probably late 30's early 40's and he was a bully taking advantage of his so called authority. Like I said in front of waiting guest and other employees he started berating and belittling this young lady who looked mortified. He would not let her get a word in when she tried to explain herself and he did not seem to care who was listening or watching. He was very unprofessional and rude and we felt sorry for this young lady. I understand if she did something wrong she needed to be made aware of the mistake. But the manager should have talked to her in private not embarrass her in public. Then for the rest of the evening I seen this manager stand in the dining room arms crossed staring down all the waiters and waitresses like he was loading over them and he wanted them to be uncomfortable knowing he was watching their every move like a dictator. This man should either be removed or sent back to training on how to be a proper manager. Other than that I highly recommend Texas Longhorn for their food and their staff service. I just feel bad for anyone who has to work...
Read moreFor a busy Friday night wasnt a bad experience. I dined alone, but when I arrived I noticed a few people were waiting, asked how long was told only would be a few minutes, about 18 to 20 minutes later I was able to be seated which wouldnt be a big deal if they weren't seating people who were just walking through the door people waiting before me or myself. Waiter, was great, table next to me had a complain about the filet being too thin, and he took care of them immediately and courteously, even the general manager went to their table and brought them a different steak and talked with them for a little while which shows he cares, my waiter is the only reason I'm giving any stars at this point.
On to the food, it was good but it wasnt all that great. I'm not one to complain on the spot because I do not want any complimentary items or refunds if I'm going out to eat. The house salad was sub-par, the salad consists of 2 rings of onion, a bunch of croutons, ultra diced tomatoes and cucumbers in an over abundance of tomato, and maybe 6 to 7 pieces of lettuce if you're lucky, all drenched under your choice of dressing. Then I ordered the Outlaw Ribeye with asparagus, which is a bone-in ribeye. I would just like to understand their method of cooking a bone in rib-eye to medium. Closest to the bone was charred to hell and cooked well done, and then the fatty side of the steak was medium rare almost rare, and the center of the steak was medium like I had ordered it. How it is possible to get 3 different temperatures on a steak that I can cook evenly perfect every time at home? And the asparagus, they should fire who ever does their prep because you are supposed to cut the white ends off asparagus because it is as hard as a rock had to find soft spot and up to eat them.
Overall, after being lied to at the door, and the food not being prepared properly, I will not be going back to Longhorn Steakhouse. But again my...
Read moreImmediately after exiting the thruway, I decided to have lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse.
Was the food phenomenal? YES! it absolutely was.
Were these lambchops worth going viral?? YES! They absolutely were.
Was this street corn worth the hype?? You guessed it... YEP!
However, this highlight for Longhorn Steakhouse is not about their amazing menu. It's for their amazing staff. One staff member in particular, and that would be Zykiyyah, who's at their Rt. 31 location. (Liverpool/Clay)
Upon arriving, we were greeted with the most welcoming hello, very friendly demeanor, and kind smile. I watched as she politely and graciously assisted a bus group of elders who had stopped in to celebrate a birthday.
Not only did she flawlessly greet and seat everyone with a smile, but she was also training a new employee and assisting with serving tables. She never skipped a beat or seemed to be too overwhelmed even though I could clearly see her juggling multiple tasks.
Our exchange with Kiyyah was one of the best customer service experiences I have ever encountered!
While I did thank her personally with a kind gesture for being phenomenal, I also wanted to come on this platform and publicly acknowledge how wonderful she was this afternoon.
Zakiyyah, thank you!!! You made our day.
I hope somehow, some way this post...
