Smokey Bones Liverpool — Restaurant in Town of Clay

We got there around 6:15 on a Tuesday. There were maybe 8 tables with people. Most already had their food. We were seated and given menus. The hostess said nothing to us. We looked at the menus and after 7-8 minutes made our decisions. Then we waited....5 minutes, 10 minutes. Almost 15 minutes later a waitress came over and said, "I'm sorry, I have no idea where your waitress is, but I'll get you started". She took our orders, I asked that the fries were extra crispy, she wrote it down and we made a joke about it. Maybe 6-7 minutes later OUR waitress came over and said the first person was helping her, but SHE would take care of us now. That was the last we saw of her until our food came out after 10 more minutes. She set it down, I tasted a frie, which barely looked cooked and they were cold. She asked if she could get us anything else and I said yea, fries that were cooked and hot. She told us no problem, but it would be a few more minutes as they had to start a new batch. Fine, I said, and she walked to tge kitchen, where I assume she put the new order in. After that she walked over to another table and started chatting with the couple there. Then she sat down and talked for quite some time. I don't mean a minute or two, it had to be 8 maybe 9 minutes or more. Not looking around to see if her tables needed anything, or if someone's food was ready. She finally got up because the couple were leaving, I don't know if she knew them personally, but it doesn't matter if she did. She came over to our table with the new, tiny order of fries and asked if there was anything else. I told her to just get us a box and the check, we'd had enough. Instantly, she offered to give us our meals for free. We asked to speak to a manager and were told she was on the line cooking. I understand being short staffed. Our waitress couldn't seem to care less. She ended up taking my meal, because it was more expensive, off the bill. We weren't looking for that. This is someplace we will never go back to, even though we've had good food and good service several times before. It's just sad that so many industries allow this kind...

Its a long and detailed review. Skip if you mind 😉.We were in neighborhood so we got hungry and stopped here even though there is another steak house right across from it we decided to go here because it had less cars in parkinglot we figured it wasn't that busy that's what we were looking for. Oh and we did reserve a table before we got there I really like the system because it had available times 15min apart. When we got there our table was given up to some one else...one star lost for me because of communication between waitresses. But this nice gentleman got us a better seat away from others because we did request to set at corner table or away from other customers due to my daughter's disability I didn't want others to not enjoy their food by my child's special needs. The waitress comes in and ask are we ready? to order. I mean i don't know If this is how its done here only or our waitress was just having a bad day. I mean we expect drinks first with complementary bread and butter or something while we take the time to decide what to order but she just jumped to take the orders. Okay we were ready anyways we give our orders she came back with drinks and no straws then went and got the straws and literally throwing them at the table and walk away my husband was like is she coming back with more to throw at us 😆... then after waiting 30min I saw her walking by I asked her can we please have a bread and butter something while we wait she said we only have corn bread so yes anything at this point. She said okay and comes back with our food and saying will be back with bread and butter 🤦‍♀️ which we only wanted before the food not with it...any ways we start to eat our food and here comes the bread and butter it just went cold and we had to box it to go. We finished eating and stormed out as quick as we could before I lost my cool. The food was good but little pricy...I would definitely order take out but no...

My friends and I who frequency come to this establishment had probably the worst service I’ve ever been given there last night 8/6 at around 7. We all ordered a round of the five dollar shots yet they didn’t recognize one that was on the menu so he had to take it to the bar, no big deal things happen when there is a new item. We finally get the shots back and clearly one of the main ingredients was missing from it and the shot glasses were dirty (Still decided to not complain as we drank them anyway) My boyfriend ordered a vodka SODA with lime, And he receives vodka with WATER and no lime And the waiter said that he would be back with one, never comes back with one so we had to go up to the bar ourselves and get a lime. When our food finally came out, all of the sides were messed up, and my boyfriend had never received his brisket claiming it would be about five minutes later, 8 to 10 minutes go by and everyone has already almost finished their food and that’s when I finally went to speak to the manager. Instead of speaking to the manager, I talked to a nice girl with pinecone necklaces, and she relayed my message to the manager that I at least wanted his food comped. Shortly after she Comes back to the table, saying that he is willing To take my boyfriend’s, honestly gross sandwich off. I figured the manager would present himself at the table, but clearly couldn’t even do that, bad service. I understand businesses have bad days, but when it’s every step of the way, I find it very unacceptable and I’m not one to complain. To be honest with you, the only competent person was the nice girl with the pinecone necklaces. Unfortunately, I will not be coming here for a while And it is one of my favorite local chains.
