Runnings — Local services in Town of Clay

I enjoy the selection of merchandise at Runnings that is not usually found at other "Big Box" type stores. With that said, I give the Clay NY store a 4 out of 5 star rating because I feel a one star deduction is warranted for the condition of the men's rest room. The urinals seem to have a plumbing problem, flushing not being something they want to do. Also, I often find the bathroom to be quite the mess in other ways. I'll leave the full description out of this review, since most can imagine what I mean. Anyhow, other than the men's room needing some work and some more regular attention, the store is an asset to the area. So much so, that my only reason for driving to Clay from the Syracuse NY area that I live in, is to go to Runnings :)

Update of my review (12/13/24)... I feel the need to come back here to my review and add something, which is my disappointment with Runnings response to my valid criticism of the Men's Bathroom conditions at their store in Clay NY. Runnings could have very easily done some of their own leg work on that matter after reading it. Well, instead they responded by wanting me to give them further input on the matter, wanting me to contact them with times and dates.... Really! Btw, the bathroom issues continue, as I have visited the store various times since my initial posting of this review. Instead of Runnings asking me for times and dates that I have been to their Clay NY store and found these unacceptable bathroom conditions, why not just get someone from your headquarters to actually randomly check the men's bathroom for yourselves? I am disappointed at your fake attempt to handle the matter. I went to a Runnings Saturday looking for cargo pants that I need for work. I always have trouble finding the correct size there and today I approached the stock clerk and asked her if she had any of these sizes I needed in the back room. She said she could not get to those because they were in bins. I said to her I go. They should be labeled on the outside so you know how to stack your items. She was all cranky and didn't seem want to do her job. I can't understand why people work and they don't want to do their jobs anymore. I love Runnings but quite a few times I've talked to the The stock people and they don't want to do their jobs. I work in the customer service industry and understand what they go through but I have to keep a smile on my face and do the best work I can. That work ethic has gone out the window. So I found a cheaper price online of the product I wanted. But I would have gladly paid the price Saturday because I needed them for...

Truly not impressed with my first time expirience here. I would like to preface this review by saying I only came here to check out the firearms. Literally no other reason. That being said it was a bad experience. Their was maybe 3 people working the counter and maybe 5 total people trying to check some guns out. I waited for 20 minutes and never even got a greeting. Not even a simple “hey so sorry it’s taking so long sir we will be with you ASAP” not even an acknowledgement. I get it if people were actively buying a gun and they were waiting on a background check to come back. But if that’s the case you can help another customer! If you’re waiting for a BC then theirs literally nothing else you can do for that current customer, move on to the next customer and if the BC comes back then finish up with that one....
