110 Grill — Restaurant in Town of Colonie

First time trying this place after it was highly recommended by friends. It seems like it can be pretty hit or miss depending on staff and how busy it is.

When we first walked in at 5:30 the host was acting completely overwhelmed and dramatic, making a big deal about where she could seat us since we didn't have reservations. She was complaining loudly to coworker that she had been there since noon and was supposed to have left at 4. Another gentleman had to step in and we were seated right away.

The food we ordered was good and service was to be expected on a busy Saturday evening. I tried the fish and chips which could have been cooked a tad bit longer. There was some raw batter in crevices and the center of the fish was a little under done but not so bad it couldn't be eaten.

Where it went wrong for us was the allergy situation. Our waitress asked about allergies and we had someone in our party who can't stomach onions so we said no onions for him. He ordered a Cuban sandwich. Since his was flagged with an "allergy" it gets checked by a manager before being served. His plate came out almost 10 minutes after the rest of the table. The lady set the plate down, informed him there were onions in the pulled pork and they were unable to put it on his sandwich and she walked away. So he paid full price for a grilled cheese with a slice of ham and pickles. They didn't offer a replacement ingredient, inform us ahead of time of the alteration, or bulk up the other ingredients to make up for the loss, and they were so busy that asking for something else would take forever if you managed to grab their attention. It was like ordering a pie and finding no filling in it. Very poor handling if the situation in my opinion.

All in all there are a lot of other things on the menu I would like to try and I'm willing to give them a second chance. Definitely plan on going during a less busy time because their staff is not able to handle the higher volume...

UPDATE: THEY RESPONDED TO MY COMMENT I REACHED OUT NEVER HEARD BACK THEY RESPOND LIKE THEY TRYING TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION BUT NEVER REACHES OUT

DO NOT EAT HERE !!!!! Me and my friends ordered 3 well done cheeseburgers and fries from here at 8 the restaurant close at 9. Everybody ate majority of the meal but was still some left over. At first my friend got sick and hurled the food back up. That night she was going to call the restaurant but I told her maybe she just had an upset stomach or ate her food too fast …. Later that night we went home I got home and hurled the food back up around 3 in the morning at around 7 in the morning my friend text the group chat and informed us she hurled the food up as well. My friend took it upon herself to call the restaurant and told her with happened and the lady had the nerve to say “ so this happened yesterday and you didn’t call” she told her “restaurant closed at 9 we picked up at 8 it was closed” she said she was going to have manager call her back manager never called. Later that day she called corporate lady was rude to not an apologetic at all when there was clearly something wrong with the food that day. Lady from corporate said manager will call me back here it is a week later and no phone call. One of my friends actually inquired hospital bills because she thought it might be food poison….. & at least the restaurant could’ve did was give me a call back. Apologized or offered a refund…. I will no longer eat here. Also I will be leaving a review every single day into we receive a call back…. & on my off days starting June 16 I will be at the restaurant outside and will be letting everybody know the service I endured when eating here. Since everybody wants to be unprofessional and rude I will be matching energy so...

We went later in the evening and while it was not full capacity (not even close) there seemed to be a wait staff shortage because everyone was running around like chickens. The waitress was extremely polite and accommodating. The shrimp appetizer was AMAZING. I could have easily made that a meal. I got the pulled pork Mac and cheese which was excellent. My only suggestion would be to put the pulled pork throughout the dish and not just plopped in a heap under the Mac and cheese. I appreciated that the staff (from the hostess to the waitress) asked about food allergies. We have none, but the fact that they make it a priority to ask was great. While definitely not my best dining experience, it was far from the worst. Slightly higher than middle of the road. One note about their bathroom facilities. I went into the ladies room and every toilet but one was clogged and nearly over flowing. I used the one that seemed to be good but that door did not have a lock. Using the bathroom while trying to hold the door shut is NOT recommended 😂 As I flushed the toilet, the water started rising (did not over flow...thank the gods) and water started coming up through the floor drain. I hope they got this issue resolved as nobody wants to worry about toilets over flowing and walking through mystery water back to the...
