A Genuine fine-dining Experience Awaits 😋. #viral #518 #albanyny #ualbany #newyorkcity

Visiting Albany, we decided to stop at Halal Grub for some burgers. The place looked clean and inviting. There was ample seating available and since it’s located in a plaza, there was parking available too. If you want to eat here, I suggest you call in advance to order. We waited about 40 minutes for four burgers to come out. The server was polite and explained that they had a lot of delivery orders to prepare. The meat in the burgers were fresh. The crispy chicken sandwich, however, left a lot to be desired. It only had lettuce and tomato, and was pretty dry. The grub burger comes with onion rings in it. They have fountain soda so you can refill your drinks but we found that we got full just from drinking soda while we waited for the food to come out. The fries they serve are the typical seasoned fries. The food was okay but nothing amazing. I might be biased though since I have so many more options in NYC.

Opened up my chicken gyro and kofta plate to find no sauces. That was disappointing. Did they forget it or does it not come with anything? There was also a picture of a salad with the rice plate but no salad in the plate. It's a soft opening so they get a pass this time on the sauce and salad miss. The kofta kebab was pretty tasty but would be better with that red or green sauce. The naan on the said wasn't fresh or warm. The rice was nice. 4 stars. The chicken in the gyro was juicy, veggies were fresh, and the pita was good. 5 stars for a $7 gyro. Pretty good. Hope they get the sauces and said salad right next time.

Halal Grub has become my go-to spot for an exceptional dining experience. This restaurant's dedication to delivering top-notch cuisine is evident in every aspect, from the warm ambiance to the exquisite flavors of their dishes.

The chicken at Halal Grub is a culinary masterpiece. Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, it's a dish that showcases the skillful preparation and commitment to quality that sets this restaurant apart. Each bite is a delightful journey through a symphony of spices.

The lamb, another highlight of the menu, is a true delicacy. Cooked to perfection, it reflects the culinary expertise that defines Halal Grub. The hummus with roasted pepper is a delightful addition, offering a creamy and flavorful twist that perfectly complements the main courses.

The kofte, a culinary delight, is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to providing a diverse and satisfying menu. The blend of spices and the expert preparation make it a must-try for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

The ambiance at Halal Grub is inviting and comfortable, creating the perfect setting for enjoying a meal with friends or family. The staff is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. Their dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in every interaction.

In conclusion, Halal Grub is a culinary gem that consistently exceeds expectations. The chicken, lamb, hummus with roasted pepper, and kofte are simply to die for. I want to note that I ordered take out and they made the mistake of not charging me. I called them once I realized because I enjoy the food and wanted to do the right thing and gave them my card information over the phone. An employee used my card and stole 300 dollars from me. I am going to file an official complaint with the city. Do not go here.

Updated 1/8/22, in response to “management’s” reply:

I was not disputing my original charge for the food I purchased. This was made clear, when I noted that I had called them upon realizing I had not been charged initially. My dispute is related to the fact that AFTER I gave my card information over the phone, an employee of this establishment stole my information and took $300 from me, by charging my debit card, to Cash App.

Upon notification from my bank that this charge had been initiated, I called Halal Grub and asked to speak to the individual noted on the charge to my account (M. Rasul). When I asked the speak to the individual in question, I was not met with “we do not have anyone here by that name”. I was met with “Yes, who is calling”. So no, I don’t have an issue with being charged for my ACTUAL purchase. I have an issue with YOUR employee stealing my information and STEALING $300 from me. This is why I will never be returning to this location, and this is why I urge anyone attempting to place any order Online or over the phone with this establishment, to think twice. If you value integrity, please go elsewhere. The NYS Division of Consumer Protection has already been informed...
