Wonton soup for $5.95 is a tough call in terms of value. I believe there were 3 wontons and 1 tail-on shrimp. Might have only been 2 wontons, I might have split one as I attempted to pick it up with the spoon. The wontons were small and fell apart easily.
However, the broth and vegetables were fantastic. The wontons and shrimp were good, but the star is the broth. Loved the flavor, just a little disappointed in the serving size.
I know, everything has gone up in price, and it's either raise the price, or cut the portion, I know. Still, felt kinda chincy on the portion.
The entree is garlic and black pepper sauce with chicken. Delicious. The chicken is wide cut and the portion is acceptable for $13.95, which includes white/jasmine rice.
Sauce is a little thin, but that's how it's supposed to be, it's not a thick cornstarch-laden sauce like most of our Americanized Chinese food.
The sauce is light, the veg is cooked well, soft without being limp, and the chicken was tender and not stringy.
I loved the food, I just question the value. For the near $22 I paid for the I'm satisfied, but not ecstatic.
I bet 5 years ago if this place was around (I don't if it was), prices were lower and this place should have been killing it. Thank you Biden for...
Read moreThis place is legit! I was trying to find authentic Thai place in the Capital Region and happy to say that this is my new favorite. I ordered fresh rolls and pad Thai for takeout online on their website. The website was easy to use and I had no issues placing my order. I was able to add that I cannot have shrimp and eggs in special instructions and the restaurant honored my request. The wait time to pick up was 15 minutes and when I arrived my food was ready for me but still hot. I will have to stop by to eat in the restaurant because the decorations were so beautiful and the place was so clean! The woman who greeted me and gave me my order was so friendly and happy to see me. They placed special cardboard in my takeout bag so the food does not spill. Love the attention to detail! She also asked me if I wanted utensils and napkins, which I declined, and thought was very smart and good for the environment. When I got home and tried the food, it was still hot and so delicious. MASSIVE fresh rolls and best sauce. The Pad Thai sauce was amazing as well and chicken was so juicy and tender. They even gave me a lime wedge. The portions are MASSIVE and prices are very reasonable. I have lunch enough for 2 days now. I will...
Read moreThis place is AH-MAY-ZIINGGG!! So unexpected! I decided to try them because there were some good reviews and didn't have expectations because it was Latham NY and we have eaten at myriad Thai spots in most major culinary cities in the US. The building from the outside looked unassuming, and the inside was nicely done. But the food! Oh it was so good. They have a very passionate and unique take on many Americanized Thai dishes. The flavors were nuanced and creative. They have a huge section of their menue\ dedicated to the glory of duck (with good reason) which I rarely feel motivated to order at most Thai restaurants. Major shoutouts to their Tom Yum Fried Rice (!!) and, surprisingly, their Pad Thai --wasn't the usual peanut heavy flavored cloying sweetness you get everywhere. I grew up in the capital region and was there helping my parents move out of their 40 year home and have little reason to be back in the area, but might swing wide sometime just to get more from...
