We came to Maria’s spur of the moment while on a weekend getaway to Watkins Glen. Dive bars are our “vibe” and with all the positiveee google reviews, we knew it would be good. We went in around 530pm and decided to sit at the bar but there were tables available. The menu is simple and typical bar food. The bartender, Taylor, was super nice right off the bat. She is very good at her job! We both decided on burgers with fries and by the time we were done with our burgers, we barely had room for fries. The burgers were big and very good. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because there was a mix up in the kitchen. I ordered a different burger than my boyfriend but when they came out, they were 2 of the burgers he ordered. I didn’t say anything as the burger was still very good and it wasn’t Taylor’s fault. The locals that were in the bar were very friendly and gave us good advice for areas to check out while in town. The pricing was really good too! By the time we left at 7pm, it was starting to fill up with locals. All in all, we would definitely...
Read moreHusband and I decided to try this place based on their 4.7 rating. We are in town for the NASCAR race this weekend and wanted to try someplace close for dinner. Upon sitting down, I noticed the bartender was helping herself to a drink behind the bar. That should have been our first warning sign. I ordered a burger and fries and my husband order the philly cheese steak sandwich with fries. The fries were absolutely horrible. They tasted like the fry oil had not been changed in weeks! When I notified the bartender/server, she took mine away but only to replace with another order that tasted just as bad but only “hot” this time. My husband’s sandwich had very little beef with a high pile of nacho cheese sauce. The sandwich had so much sauce that it was not even edible. My burger was very, very dry and also not edible. To top it off, when I paid the bill, our bartender short changed me by $10. When I immediately notified her, she acted surprised that she had done that but it did not appear to be sincere. Definitely one of the worst meals & experiences we...
