Decided to come here with my family during a weekend getaway. We were enticed by the positive reviews and the huge tea selection, however we ended up sorely disappointed. The waitress/hostess did not smell pleasant, we had to ask numerous times for sugar and cream refills (after none was brought out with our tea service), and we were made to feel as if we were extremely greedy by asking for more cream and sugar (I’m sorry, 8 sugar cubes is not enough for 5 people). After asking 3 times for more cream and sugar, the waitress very snarkily set down an entire box of dominoes sugar cubes as if to guilt us for gasp wanting enough sugar for our 5 pots of tea. To top it off, the scone we ordered was raw in the middle and there was some rotten watermelon in the fruit platter.
I have honestly never been so disappointed in a tea house. It left a sour note on what should have been a fun filled family weekend!
EDIT: I guess I should have known that the owners of this mediocre tea house would decide to slander my character instead of taking ownership for the quality of service they provide. To set the record straight: I spent 6 years working as a server/bartender/hostess/busser in restaurants during and after college. I now work in healthcare. I ALWAYS treat workers with respect and kindness. When I come in to a restaurant I am always understanding of the fact that sometimes it takes food a while to come out, sometimes a table is not available immediately, sometimes things are forgotten or cooked incorrectly, and that is perfectly fine!
What is not fine, however, is a server treating my family differently because we look younger than the typical crowd. We NEVER interrupted her or “made her cry.” (And that’s an absolutely unhinged thing to lie about) In fact, when she failed to bring sugar and cream I walked to the host stand and found her on her phone which is where I asked her for sugar. So if she was really having difficulty “keeping up with her tables” maybe that might have been the issue, and not us politely asking if she could bring us more supplies FOR THE TEA WE ORDERED AT A TEA HOUSE. She never brought us regular sugar, only a small handful of sugar cubes which were clearly not enough for 5 people with pots of tea. Every time we asked her after was when she came to the table. And guess what, I still left a very decent tip for her! And treated her with kindness at every step! Because I’m a decent human being and that’s how I was raised.
These accusations are extremely shocking and unfounded. I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism from the owner of a business. You could have taken the constructive criticism and chosen to improve your business instead of throwing out false accusations to customers, but here we are! For anyone reading this: I strongly urge you to stay away from this business. You can read the other 1 star reviews as well as the owners replies to see the character of the people whose business you would be supporting. There are other far more professional breakfast places in the area. Unfortunately a huge...

Read moreThe tea was terrific, I'll say that much is positive. The food however was a bit lackluster. Imagine paying $13 for an English muffin split in half with two over easy eggs with a single small piece of ham split between either half with an already-broken hollandaise sauce that primarily tastes like lemon juice with no seasoning to balance it out. I wouldn't recommend it. The service seemed very antsy at the time too. She put us off into their "Asian" tea room. There is nothing Asian about that room whatsoever. It's the Temu version of Alice in Wonderland. And that room is SO isolated from the rest of the restaurant! Any music you might faintly hear beyond the doorway is all you're going to get for any comforting ambience. The sound simply doesn't reach the room, and the amount of fluorescent lighting from the ceiling is super excessive for such a small room. It's uncomfortable in there to say the least. Sometimes, it even felt like service almost forgot about us! I really hoped this place would be a lot better than it was. Turns out it's just a cute little novelty at best with good tea. Not exactly something you can change by asking to speak with a member of management when...
