Village Bistro is a hidden gem with high quality bistro/comfort food at reasonable prices, difficult to find out east. The indoor restaurant is comfortable but lacks ambience, whereas the outdoor courtyard is very charming like you’re in an outdoor bistro in Europe. We ordered a tomato tart like a raw tuna imposter and it was refined and delicious. For main we ordered fish & chips (perfectly battered cod and good fries), roasted chicken (tasty and juicy), chicken club sandwich (generous portion and fresh ingredients), and the big Asian chicken salad (delicious and satisfying). It’s a great place for an easy-going high quality meal with friends and family. Not sure why some reviews are so negative-we’ve dined here 3 times and will be back.

The Village Bistro in East Hampton offers a cozy, casual atmosphere with friendly and attentive service. It's a comfortable spot for a relaxed meal, though the quality of food can be hit or miss. One standout dish that we particularly enjoyed was the heirloom tomato tart, which was excellent—flavorful and perfectly executed. While the service and ambiance are generally praised, the food can sometimes fall short, depending on the dish. Still, they offer prix fixe menu that’s a great deal in a town where dining out can get pricey. The set menu provides excellent value and worth a visit if you're in the area.

The attention is amazing. The food was on point. We requested mussels, tuna tartara, steak and sea bass. The timing was more than reasonable. Drinks are also a plus, I would suggest the cucumber margarita, it had just the right spycineas. Prices are average for the area. The environment is friendly and welcoming. I'm coming back with more friends!

I’ve never left a restaurant before…We went to Village Bistro with high hopes but, after waiting an hour (with kids, at 6pm) for water and menus, there was no other choice but to leave. The restaurant was not even close to capacity and the waitstaff were completely out of their depth; multiple tables were complaining/waving staff down/talking to nearby tables about how poor the experience was. Our waitress was very nice but clearly was new to service, and trying to not only wait tables but also make all drinks behind bar. Asked for a standard drink and, after 20 minutes, she came out to say she “looked through all the bottles but couldn’t find it.” Asked for a kids menu and was given a menu previously colored in by another child. Could be a great spot but absolutely not worth it until they get their act together. We ended up walking down the street to another restaurant to salvage the night and very...

Wonderful location but totally misses the mark with awful food and mediocre and impersonal service. The French Onion Soup was disgusting with no broth and a substantial taste of added sugar (please avoid this at all costs). Tuna Tartare looked boring but tasted decent. Pasta special was OK. Ratatouille was atrocious (tasted like vegetables had been microwaved and some sort of smokey flavoring added to it. Ratatouille is such an easy and special dish to make but the bistro has tried to over emphasize presentation and ended up with something bland and inedible. I live in East Hampton and had such high hopes. I can't ever imagine coming back. We were offered a complimentary dessert but decided to turn it down because I cannot imagine it...
