Unfortunately, the experience was even worse than I initially described, and now not just because of the food, but also because of the owner’s rude and unprofessional response to my previous review.
I ordered the pub steak well-done: a choice that isn’t merely a matter of personal preference; it’s a health requirement for many people (including pregnant women). If the restaurant can’t cook a steak to that point without leaving it dry and tough, it simply shouldn’t accept such orders.
Let’s be honest, a well-done steak is far from a special or unusual request. I’ve ordered it in countless other restaurants and received juicy, well-prepared meals without any issue. I’m on vacation and I shouldn’t have to cook my own meals. That’s precisely the point of going to a restaurant: to enjoy food that is properly prepared, especially when the item is offered on the menu.
I don’t need to be an expert to recognize a poorly executed dish; having basic taste and self-respect is enough. And instead of receiving my feedback with respect, I was met with sarcasm and arrogance, as if sharing an honest account of dissatisfaction were absurd.
Charging $25 for a visibly low-quality piece of meat, full of gristle and nearly impossible to eat, is absolutely unacceptable, especially when the ingredient itself falls far below any reasonable standard.
Google reviews exist precisely for this reason: to share personal experiences, which may indeed be specific to a single day, but that help others decide whether to visit. I always read reviews before choosing a restaurant, and I was merely sharing my opinion (respectfully). The response I received was anything but.
I agree that the “work on the steaks” still needs improvement, but so does the ability to handle constructive criticism delivered honestly and politely.
I’ll leave it at that, because I have no interest in wasting my time arguing with a rude owner. I have no intention of lowering myself to that level, though, to be fair, if it were a competition, they’d easily win given the experience they clearly have in being...
Read moreOn a dead Monday, with 10 people in the entire place, 8 of which weren't ordering food, the cook made a big deal and came out to our table to complain that we ordered 2 sauces with our order of 10 wings (5 hot,5 mild). Her treatment and attitude towards us will mean I don't come back. You're in WNY, get used to having to split sauces on an order of wings. It happens and if you can't even accommodate you shouldn't be serving wings. It's like the most basic ask.
Our server was brand new so the service wasn't great but she was trying and I completely understand why she'd be overwhelmed working for a boss like that. Food is mediocre, there is a better Beef on Weck down...
Read moreThis is our new favorite place! The staff were wonderful, the menu is great, and they are very knowledgeable and understanding of gluten allergy/sensitivity. They have a dedicated area AND fryer. Items come from the kitchen labeled GF. The choices were great and no upcharge for GF. We had a fish fry, wings, and fries, but will definitely return for a reuben, rachel, onion rings, etc. Jessie, our server, was so friendly and knew her stuff ! If I could recommend anything, maybe turn the heat up. It was a bit chilly in there. Othere than that, it was a great experience. Thank you Bryan for giving my wife the recommendation! We will...
