The Silver Fox Steakhouse — Restaurant in Town of Ellicottville

It's too bad they don't have ZERO stars. This was the worst experience of my life! Our waitress SHANNON was terrible. We were a party of 9 and she acted like we were inconveniencing her because of it. We tried to call ahead and were told they don't do reservations.I heard this place was good and wanted to try it to celebrate my BIRTHDAY. I will not be returning. We were there for 2 and half hours. We weren't offered any bread to start. She rudely came over to tell us they were out of burgers and walked away. Then multiple waitresses walked by out table with burgers. I ordered chicken wings when we ordered out meal and was told 25 mins later they were out of those too. The only filet the menu offers is with shrimp and I am allergic to shrimp. I asked if I could order the steak without shrimp and I was stared at for 5 mins with a blank stare like this was so out of the ordinary! That's when I switched to wings. Then I told they don't have wings and went back to the steak with shrimp. We had another person in our group order the same, but he wanted shrimp and it came out with 1 shrimp when it clearly states on the menu that it should come with 6/8 COUNT with the steak. When he asked our waitress why he would only get 1 shrimp she told us that it means 6/8th of a shrimp. WHAT A JOKE. SAVE YOUR MONEY I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Never been here before, location was recommended to us for a special occasion. Had a very difficult time finding the location, went around the block four times. This is because the sandwich board that was outside, a sign with the name of the restaurant and arrow pointing to it, was pointing across the street to a different restaurant.

I liked the candles on the table, but aside from that, nothing about the dining area felt high-class / fancy. Menu was honestly shocking in price. Couldn't believe that of the four steak choices they have offered at this steakhouse, none of which being under $50, that you have to pay extra for a side vegetable or for a salad or for a potato. Really hard to believe that you can put down $70 for one of their best steaks but then you have to pay $4 for potato, $7 for salad, $6 for mushrooms... Really felt like they were nickel-and-diming you.

I was on an out of town ski trip from Cleveland Ohio. As I walked off the bus I started walking to find a nice place to eat. As I walked 2 blocks an aroma caught my nose. As I proceeded to the aroma I found this steakhouse off the main strip. There was a total of 5 people in our group. We all proceeded to Silver Fox Steakhouse. As we entered the steakhouse we were overwhelmed by the smell of cooking steaks and found a fine dinning experience. After I ordered my Cab Calloway and Italian wedding soup, along with my entree comes with a house salad in which I ordered the house smoked vinegraette. When the served my Italian wedding and house salad with smoked vinegraette dressing the restaurant had already received my 5 star fine dinning experience.
