Picked up 3 giant pretzels this morning, but must pre-order to insure you get on of the fresh made delights. I got the cheese dip and requested jalapeños. They were still warm from the oven at the requested time. Moist and tender. Just off the main street, a nice local gem. Stop in and say Hi to Bert, his wife and staff. Food is made to order, so order ahead or sit and enjoy a beverage while the food is hand made in the back from scratch.

This is a small place tucked away off the main street. It is very nice inside and has outside seating as well. I got the giant pretzel which is definitely big and delicious. I also got some pistachio biscotti which had a lot of pistachio not just flavoring and was very tasty. They had a nice selection of snacks too. I plan on going back to try breakfast soon.

This was introduced to me as a breakfast place, but I will likely be back for late lunch to try the appetizers and other food options. The server is friendly and attentive but not pushy. The food is delicious! Try to pretzel bagel and you won't be disappointed. We tried the snickerdoodle cookies too and they were tasty.

Saw this place and decided to stop in on a whim. Everything looked so amazing! It was around Valentine’s Day so I decided to get some treats for the family. I got a loaf of ciabatta bread, a cupcake for my son, a rainbow cake slice, and two Ganache-covered mini heart shaped cakes. The bread was outstanding! My son and I decided to start eating some as soon as we got home. Unfortunately, all of the cake left something to be desired. Although my son’s cupcake was not bad at all, the rainbow cake slice and the two heart shaped cakes were both very dry. The heart shaped cakes were vanilla cake covered with ganache in the wrapper, which made it awkward to eat because the ganache was all stuck to the wrapper. If I was in the area, I would stop in and only buy some of the bread products but I would not go out of my way to come here. It was so disappointing especially because everything in the cases...

Love everything about this place. Stumbled into Bert's Hideout as I was waiting for a tire repair Fishkill Tire (which is also a five star place). Bert's served as a perfect respite. I am small cafe owner, and enter places with high standards. If I could give Bert's more stars, I would. Chicken soup? Fantastic. Homemade Gluten Free Cookies? Addictive. Conversation? Priceless. Bert and Diane care so much about what they serve and all the breads and goodies are house-made with top notch ingredients. The bright side to having a nail in my tire? My wife and I moved into the Village of Fishkill a year ago. We quickly discovered Berts Bread House and gave it a try. I guess you can now call us “regulars” as I am there multiple times each week. Among my favorites are the multigrain bread, prosciutto bread, olive bread and recently introduced to his seeded Rye which is fantastic. Great chicken pot pie, Sheppard pie and quiches . Nice selection of pastries rolls, muffins and pies! Truly an asset to the wonderful quaint village of Fishkill located 1/2 block off Main Street....
