Shout out to the awesome Customer Service I received yesterday at this store. I bought a Lolë coat almost a year ago. I spent more money on it than I have ever spent on a coat. (Nearly $300!!) However, I thought the cost was Well worth every penny, fitted, stylish and the warmest coat I owned. However, in short time the zipper began to give me issues. Sticking, jamming, and constantly getting hung up. This was frustrating and disappointing to say the least, especially comparative to the price I paid for it. Fast forward to this new season, nearly a year later. The performance of the zipper is far worse, now beginning to tear the fabric. I can’t zip it up or even get the coat off once I can zip it up!! I’m really upset about this!! It’s a year later, the receipt and tags are long gone.
I went to Lolë web site, although they have a one year warranty on their apparel, they can’t help me because I’ve got no proof of purchase. To make it more challenging (so I thought) I bought it with a Gift Card. I Can’t even go back to my credit/debit statements. I really thought I was SOL. In a final, pessimistic attempt, I called Scheels customer service. They said (in a Cheery voice) “come on in, let’s see what we can do”. I did just that. With in less than 10 minutes they were able to trace the purchase of the coat, receipt and all!! I was told: “go pick out a new coat and we will take care of the rest”. Moments later, I’m walking out with a new coat!!! I happily paid the price difference from the initial coat of... $20.00!! Thank you scheels!! Myself and my significant other spend more than a fair amount of $$ in your store (obscene at times, actually) Your service team knew nothing of that, nor did I have to spew or even insinuate that haughty statement to them. Read moreI purchased a Lowrance Eagle Eye 9 along with an HDI Shuttle and HDI carbon pole online. Afterward, I purchased an Amped Outdoors 12v 20Ah Lithium battery to power the Lowrance, also online. The prices were competitive and the shipping is fast. HOWEVER. When I received the HDI shuttle, I found tools (screwdriver, flat wrench, and Allen wrench) missing from the hardware pack, an unattached wire inside the unit, scrapes and gouges on the body of the unit, and the hardware had been used already (the washers had marks from being fastened). I contacted customer svc and provided photos and was given the option to return it or accept a 35% refund because they sold me a used unit as NEW. It appeared that someone had purchased, used, and then returned the unit and then Scheels sold it to me as new. I took the refund because the issues didn't affect the functionality of the unit. The next day, I received the battery. The box had been cut open, the user guide was missing, and the body of the battery had scrape marks on it. Again I contacted customer svc and asked them to make the situation right. They provided a return shipping label. I asked for compensation (partial refund? gift card? anything?) for my trouble of having to deal with a second issue involving them selling a USED product as NEW and it fell on deaf ears. Read moreThe helpfulness of the staff is always good, in fact in was a good experience until the end. And as it always is, how an experience ends, is what I’m left feeling about the whole experience. When I checked out on the mall entrance side of the store, went into the mall and then cut back through, I was exiting to my car at exterior entrance, I flashed my digital receipt to let them know I had already made my purchases, where I was then accosted be a manager on duty, who asked to see what was in my bag. I showed her my receipt, which she stated didn’t let her know what was in my bag. I explained that after purchase, this was private property, and I wouldn’t be inclined to agree to a search. When I then turned to leave, she raised her voice , yelling you can’t leave and demanded I stay for a search of my belongings. . She made me feel like I was in the wrong, certainly not a valued customer. but instead, a misbehaving adult, who is thief until I prove that I’m not.
I’m sure I’m not the only person that enters from mall entrance and then proceeds to exit to parking lot exit. While a Costco or a Sams club has it in a agreed contract with membership, this isn’t something that Scheels has with their guest(or in this case a demoralized customer who now feels unwelcome and disrespected) public berated, I will seek other places in the...
