Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in Town of Grand Chute

I have eaten here often as it is not too far from my work. Generally the staff is friendly, the food is hot and ready when I arrive (I usually call in ahead). there have been a few snafus here and there but we are all human. Today was a very disappointing experience. first they did not have my order ready when I came into the store despite the fact that I called in my order 15 min before I left work and they stated it would be ready in 10 min. The cashier laughed as he told me " your food is not ready, we screwed something up". I then waited and watched 3 other tables be served including 2 that where behind me in line (remember I called in my order). When I inquired about the time left before my order was ready and explained I was on a break from work and really needed to return (the reason I called ahead) I was told "we are working on it". the biggest disappointment was that not one person said Sorry! I do understand that mistakes happen and there were other customers but a simple "We apologize" or "really sorry for the wait, your food will be up very soon" would have been a welcome response to the very Juvenile responses and lack of customer service I received tonight. To top off this experience, the pizza was cold (not warm even) and the salad which was pre-dressed was so over dressed that I couldn't finish it as it was swimming in dressing. I pray that this restaurant from 2 decades ago makes a comeback in SE Wisconsin & beyond! Back in the day... Schlotzky's was Everything! Then came the 'yaddah-yaddah' sandwich chains with drive-thrus. The muffilatta breads are still as wonderful as we remember! Crispy edges, perfectly toasted centers. Just enough bottom & top bun to enhance the amazing meats, veggies & melted cheese toasted inside! Sure, these sandwiches are competitive pricey... but with Schlotzky's, you DO get what you pay for! How good are they, really?? We drove 2 HOURS to enjoy one! And their flatbreads & pizzas? Outstanding & flavorful. With soups, macs, & salads as well... there is something for everyone's taste! And hey! If Cinnabon is a dessert option within the menu, Schlotzky's must be doing something right!! Please give them a try if you're in the Fox Valley area of WI (Appleton, Oshkosh or Green Bay.) And try their hot sauce! OMG! So good! Let's bring Schlotzky's back to...

Dirty store, staff never greeted us they just talked to each other the whole time, very unprofessional. Order was wrong, was overcharged and nobody even apologized for it. The first table you see is filled with snacks from staff and the table looks extremely dirty. Can't believe the deterioration of this amazing sandwich shop! Only 2 stars earned for the actual food...they either skimped out or they haven't been trained how to make sandwiches properly. I was an employee for 5 years at a different location and I cannot believe how one of the last standing stores in Wisconsin, looks and feels like this. Each Schlotzskys store is separately owned so to the owner: get yourself a better professional crew that can actually keep loyal customers!!
