We’ve been meaning to try this place for some time now, so we were in the area and went for the first time. Bad decision. We arrived around 9:30 am and both ordered breakfast. Eggs, American fries, ham, and a pancake for me; eggs, sausage links, hash browns for my hubby. Server was business-like, but not particularly friendly. Food arrived and was lukewarm at best. Pancake wasn’t warm enough to melt the butter. “American fries” was a small portion of lukewarm, dry, overcooked baby red potatoes. I’ve been dining at many different restaurants over the years, and these were about the worst I’ve encountered. Asked server to replace them with hash browns which weren’t much of an improvement. My husband’s sausage links (3) were of the same appearance and flavor of those pre-cooked “brown and serve” links you buy frozen at a grocery store. You’d think at these prices they could serve fresh, genuine links. His hash browns were also lukewarm, not crispy on the outside as hash browns should be. Another employee (a manager?) came to the table and asked if there was a problem. We explained our concerns, but she didn’t seem too concerned with what we had to say. The only item that was remotely satisfactory was the pancake (although as already mentioned, it wasn’t hot). First, and last, time we’ll ever eat...
Read moreWas recommended to eat here by a hotel guest services representative. I came in and sat down since it was self seating. Waitress asked what I wanted to drink and I asked for coffee. She came back with coffee and asked if I was ready to order. I asked for a few more minutes which turned into 10 mins or more (maybe?). I had to flag her down and asked to give my order. It really wasnt busy I was under the impression she was doting on her regular customers. I finally got my food. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with hash browns and 2 eggs over easy, rye toast with a side of Bacon which was extra. The chicken fried steak and gravy were delicious and you cant really mess up eggs. However the rye toast was burnt and the hash browns were bland .. no seasoning no spice or onions.. the bacon was ok but not worth the $4 for 3 slices.. as I love a good local diner or hole in the wall place to eat .. this diner was mediocre at best.. I'd try another restaurant...
Read moreIf you're not a local then good luck getting good service, or even service with a fake smile. When we went in there was only 2 other tables. Very clean like the old diner feel, but when both of your servers are complaining over by the juice machine and won't even smile at you when your awkward friend makes a joke to try and get the server to smile followed with snotty you mean scrambled. Hollandaise was extremely thin and mostly butter so had a great time the next 2 days on the toilet along with asking for my eggs to be poached hard to receive them medium then asked for them hard cause it already took long enough cause they got busy and we were put on the back burner, because we weren't regulars, you know the regulars will be back you should try to gain new customers so needless to say...
