I had high expectations and was excited for kbbq and hotpot however I was left disappointed. This was our first time here and when we were greeted by our server he didn't really explain to us how the process works. I had to ask him if it was possible to do dinner instead of lunch, in addition, if we could do both hotpot and kBBQ. I think it would have been nice if he had given us a quick run through of our options and choices, instead of us relying on what we have heard through other customers, and through their socials. The food was good but it wasn't anything super special. I think if you go here definitely go for the hotpot but the kbbq can be a pass. The kbbq meat to me tasted the same and for the quality, I expected better. To add, if u are doing both hotpot and kbbq, the food cooks quickly which is nice, however, it can cause the meats to overcook and become chewy. So, I would reccomend to do one option only or one option first. The Boba, however was nice. I got the brown sugar milk tea, only thing is that the tapioca pearls were hard. Another thing to add is that our server did not tell us that there was a sauce bar and where it was. I had been eating my hotpot plain until I had enough and went around looking for it, and thankfully the busboy showed me where it was. The kimchi there was also weird...it tasted like ginger. The spice wasn't there, the crunch wasn't there, just not fresh. We also had a lovely visitor that kept flying around us and landed on our food...a fly. They also charge $14.99 per lbs for leftover. Which I understand is to reduce waste but the food was bad for its price and even to finish. My experience felt like as if my mom was forcing me to eating something I didn't want to eat. I think service and atmosphere has a huge impact on customers experience. I understand what servers go through but for my table being the ONLY table there, I think our server could've offered more patience, humor, and even a smile to help. This was just my experience so, not everyone's will be the same but I do think there is area to improve. At the end, our sever never came to ask if we wanted dessert or even ask if we wanted the bill. We were unsure and went up to pay up front. Which I don't mind but I was kind of looking forward to dessert, but I believe dessert is extra charge. To leave on a good note our busboy was very kind, he was polite, cleared our tables at appropriate times, would answer our questions, and was grateful for our tips towards him. The insides of the restaurant was also decorated beautifully, clean, and had good music. Would be willing to try again but, mostly only for the hotpot.

So far I've only had the grill, and it was okay. It is important to remember that they just opened so things are still a bit rough around the edges. First of all it is all you can eat and during the weekend you get dinner prices even if you go for lunch, which i enjoyed because you were not limited to lunch items. Paid $94 for two people, both drinking only soda. The whole experience was a bit confusing because we've never gone to this type of restaurant so it would've been nice if the servers had asked if we'd been here before, or if we wanted an explanation of how things were done here. All our questions were answered but we did not get any information unless we asked. We did not know there were sauces until we happened to see the sauce table, if we hadn't noticed we would've gone the whole time without knowing it existed, which makes me wonder if we missed anything else. The sliced meat is cut very thin so it cooks fast but may also fall apart, the cuts of steak were all good but unseasoned. The descriptions of some items say they are marinated but they were a bit bland and frozen so not sure if some steps were missed. Our biggest issue was that our orders kept coming wrong, or were missing. We would order and things would just get dropped off with no mention of what they were so I'm not totally sure how accurate our service was but some things were obviously wrong. We ordered pork belly and received finger ribs, asked for teriyaki beef and received what we guessed was spicy beef. We understand that it is busy, but so many wrong or missing orders was a bit strange. Overall, we left with a full stomach and enjoyed our time, even if there were some struggles. I'd recommend going but just keep in mind that the staff is still learning, so some patience is needed. Otherwise I'd recommend giving it some time for things to be worked on. I know I'll for sure be back to try the hotpot.

My wife and I came in for lunch just to check out the soft opening. Seeing all the reviews being so positive and wanted to check out for ourselves but to be honest, the food is mediocre at best. Appetizer/sauces Self serve of sauces and side is a great idea but there are no sneeze guard/hand sanitizer and is unsanitary imo. It's awkwardly placed by the wall. I suggest removing the center mushroom piece of decoration by the entrance for the sauces/sides. The variety of sauces is decent but I was hoping for some gochujang or chili oil. Kimchi was bland and had little to no flavor (tasted like it were just made fresh in 5min), and pickled radish had no pickling. Imo these should be free to clean your palette. Meal/entree Meats all tasted the same in flavor (hosin/sesame oil taste) and charging $5 for 2 rolled up thin pieces of spicy pork belly, $5 for looked like 2oz of spicy bugogi beef. $3 for a slice of onion, $3 for 3 slices of mushroom, and $2.50 for a small bowl of rice. Spicy is not spicy at all and no kick. The garlic sauce was more spicy than the meats. We ordered $25 worth of food from the menu but were charged for the all you can eat prices instead. Regardless if we weren't charged for all you can eat, the food had no variety of flavor and wouldn't want anymore food anyways. We also received a house complimentary sample of little meats/dessert which was nice, but again meats had no flavor variety. Dessert (sesame ball was good) and egg roll was definitely from the frozen isle. Service was good since we came right when it opened and had little to no people there. Wouldn't want to see it when it's packed and busy. If we didn't get the house sample we would give it 1 star only.

Food- Quality was average. Main concern was with the shaved meats. Many were obvious shaved before hand and then frozen. For how long, who knows. There was a noticeable decrease in taste and quality. Had the spicy soup as well. Spicy, but otherwise no real flavor. After plenty of salt and other fixings, it was fine. They give you very thick cuts of short ribs and pork belly, making cook times very long. Not what you'd expect on a kbbq grill. Hard to share. Hard to share a grill. Honestly nothing to rant or rave about.

Service - Poor. None of the waitstaff seemed to have a good grasp of the English language making it hard to order food and drinks. Had to ask multiple times for the one off things we wanted. Had to ask 3 times for a serving of beef tongue and when we got it, it was with multiple other servings of meats all prepped the same way with no explanation of what anything was. Our server did come to the table an adequate amount of time. But we asked for shrimp dumplings multiple times, just about every time she came to the table. After the 5th time, we gave up and never got the shrimp dumplings. She was also very caught up on cost as if we couldn't afford it? $5 upcharge here, fee for food waste, etc. Mentioned it multiples times what was already written on the menus instead of being interested in what we were actually ordering. If you got multiple orders of things, they would bring them all separately as well. 4 orders of shrimp? There's 4 small plates with 5 shrimp each on them for you to fit somewhere on this very overcrowded table already, even though there is only one grill. Just consolidate it. Our server also did not give any instructions on where anything was. We had one from our group that had been there previously who had to show us where the appetizers station and condiment station was. No one gave any instruction on how to turn on the grill or the stove tops for the hotpot. By chance, a buss boy saw us struggling and showed me how to turn them on.

Atmosphere - Confusing. They have a nice tree/bench design and a robot waiter gimmick. That's about it. To have booths for kbbq and hot pot is definitely a poor choice. Everytime someone wants to get more condiments, or appetizers, or use the bathroom, it disrupts the whole table. Their unique decision to have a small, not well stocked appetizer station is confusing. For $35 a head to start, you'd think they would atleast make your appetizers fresh like other local places. They also have a very small, very crowded, not well labeled condiment station. There's enough space for two people to stand shoulder to shoulder. It moves in one direction and it's right next to hallway to the bathrooms. It was hard not to be grossed out to start. Once you get past that, you still have to study the whole area to find what you want since nothing is clearly labeled. Everything literally looks like someone just filled a bottle and then threw it up there. I seriously doubt it any of it is food or temp safe.

Overall - Would not recommend. It like they understand what customers want and then purposely went out of their way to make it as hard as possible to achieve those things. Or purposely cheaped out such as with the appetizers station and the condiment station. The bathrooms also had no work done to them. In fact, one of faucets in the men's bathroom was just completely missing. It was obviously the same famous Dave's (the restaurant that used to be there) bathroom but with all the decor taken down. Not repaired. Not repaint. Nothing. You'd get better food, service, atmosphere, kbbq, and hot pot at Katsuya. Better food, service, buffet, and value at sushi lovers. Better food, buffet, and value at Huhot. Better buffet and value at any of the multiple basic Chinese buffets in our area.

I doubt this place will be open...

I love that we now have an ayce kbbq/hotpot in the fox cities! I’m not a big fan of marinated meat but Molo’s so far is good. I’ve been there when soft opening happened and our server didn’t come around to us as often. At that time, it was 5 orders per person and so me and my spouse ordered 10 total but when it came out, it was 1-2 slice of meat/seafood. Some of our orders were forgotten, like the appetizers (it didn’t come until after we ate and paid plus it was cold when it was brought out). We had our 1 year old with us and had wanted a high chair but with the walkway space being so tight, it would be in the way of all customers so we had her sit in the booth with us. In this case, not very kids friendly. Our server at that time doesn’t come often to take our next order so there was a bit of a wait on that. And there wasn’t many side dishes offered. Their kimchi wasn’t to my liking - more sweet. I thought the hotpot soup is bland. Only things we like out of our first time was the meat and the fact that it is an ayce. I think with the pricing, the menu variety isn’t much. It was soft opening so we didn’t have high expectations.

We went again last week to see if there was changes and improvement as advertisement on Facebook seems pretty great. This time we only did the kbbq. There was only 2 servers working this night. We did not bring our child this time but saw that there are booster seat available but no seatbelt. We were seated by the robot waiter. Our server were helping the tables next to ours who were first timer so we understood the wait and the short staff. He was very friendly. Finally took our orders after 20 min wait. We weren’t new so he was relief. Our meat came fairly quick but again, not our appetizers. We didn’t wait long this time to order our next round and told our server we never got our appetizers and he apologizes. Appetizers and all meat came. Still comes out with 1-2 meat this times. Did not tell us which cut it is but we didn’t mind as we order what we had tried and liked. They now use papers on their grill for easier cleaning and we requested for the paper to be change once which is great that we could request this. We saw, who I believe is the owner or manager, checking on tables next to us and offering free dessert to them but did not stop at our table. Walked past us. We are Asian and the table around us are non Asian. Doing this make me feel like they care more about their non Asian customers experience over Asians or at least, us. We left feeling the same as our first time - eh.

⭐️ My suggestions are to limit how many customers you are accepting if there isn’t enough servers so that customers aren’t waiting long to order their rounds and servers aren’t overwhelmed. OR since it is an ayce, I think it would be best to do online dine in ordering or from an iPad like other ayce bbq/hotpot places I have seen. Offer more varieties with meats and veggies. Definitely try to improve on the soups - saying this from my one time experience only.

If you are reading this and prefers kbbq and don’t want to drive far, I recommend 592 Korean Bbq by the Fox River Mall. More side dishes, appetizers and kids friendly. And you order...

I absolutely loved this restaurant. My youngest child and I had a blast with the variety of food and flavors.

My child is 4 years old, but there was no shortage of food she would eat! They accommodated her very well, as anyone with a picky 4yo will know, it can be hard to eat out at a fancy restaurant with small children. She went to town on the gyoza. Her review of the food: “This pineapple and broccoli gives me super powers.” They do have child pricing. Adults are like $25ish for the food and young kids are like $10 for all you can eat. And they let me share my hot pot with my child since she’s 4. That was ideal since she won’t eat an entire pot herself, especially with the amount of food variety you can get!

I felt a good amount of comfort here. The environment is very clean and the atmosphere is so friendly. The owners definitely put their heart into this place. It felt like I walked into a new family and was welcomed in.

They have cool LED lighting that looks like a fire along one wall, which was VERY concerning for my 4yo who insisted on informing the owner & staff about this dangerous situation, which was so cute.

We loved the bone broth soup base for the hot pot and added a little bit of kimchi to it for a hint of spicier flavor. My youngest doesn’t like schezhuan so we couldn’t go with that heat (next time I will).

The bulgolgi is very good! I highly recommend the bulgolgi, especially their house special sauce version.

I’m also a fan of tea so we tried their bubble teas. They accommodated my 4yo making the bubble tea without the pearls for her. We tried strawberry, honeydew, and mango bubble teas. They serve this in a cute to go cup! I’m keeping the cups as well, they seem like they’re going to last a good while so why not?

Wait time: I arrived kind of in between lunch and dinner so I can’t really say much about how long it could get. I prefer going to restaurants during non-peak hours. I walked in and they instantly were setting our table up. I looked at the menu while another family came in. The owner took the family’s name to prepare a table and also made sure I was being helped. All in all, we waited maybe 5 minutes before going to be seated. However, I did overhear them taking a reservation over the phone for 11 people at a set time, so if you know your arrival time is during peak hours, definitely make a reservation.

Pros: You will leave here completely full and satisfied. Cons: You will leave here completely full… get your errands done first and prepare yourself for a food coma.

10/10, will go again. My spouse creature is taking me there on our next date!

My only complaint: I forgot to look at the dessert menu, or if they have one. I was too full.

Recommendation for future visits: check...
