I have just bought a new .223 Savage Trophy Hunter rifle from Mills Fleet Farm in Appleton, WI. I had the rifle special ordered on Sunday, which it took a few days to get in so it was no big deal. I was able to pick up the gun on Wednesday night, and got to shoot the gun Thursday morning. For a right-out-of-the-box gun it was a great shooting gun. The first five shots I took were 5 in. to right of the bullseye and 2 in. low at 50 yards. By the time I went through a box and a half of ammunition I had the gun zeroed on the bullseye at 100 yards. Overall I'm very pleased with how smooth the gun functions, and the accutrigger is a nice bonus on the gun. It's my first Savage ever and more than likely won't be my last if the gun holds up. I can't wait to use it on coyotes and varmints soon. The only complaint I had was that I bought the gun as a rifle/scope package and was surprised it never came with scope caps to protect the scope. Being that I purchased the gun for $530 I would have figured it would have come with scope caps. I fixed that problem though the next day because I bought a scope coat for it at the same Fleet Farm store in Appleton, WI.
Overall when it came to purchasing the gun the service I received was very top notch. Chris was very nice to me and help me go through the whole background check very smoothly. Being that I'm 21 and never have before did the background screening I thought it would be a little bit nerve racking not knowing what to expect, but it was a piece of cake. Chris told me it would take 10-15 min. to know if I was approved or not, but within 5 min. I was notified that I was approved to buy the gun. The wait at the checkout line wasn't very long on this visit either and Emmie did a great job cashiering.
Overall the service I got was exceptional, the Savage rifle I bought has very well pleased me, and all together the only complaint I had was the scope caps. With that said I strongly recommend anyone that's looking to buy a hunting rifle to consider buying a Savage. The reason is I doubt it will not disappoint you because it has...

My parents have been shopping at Fleet Farm since they opened an Appleton. They always got all of their Christmas presents here for everyone, including their giant containers of peanuts because my dad used to say everybody loves peanuts lol.
Fleet Farm and Appleton literally has everything under the sun.
I shop here for my running and YOGA! clothing. Also all of my Equine needs and Horse treats.
My husband loves coming here for a multitude of things from gadgets for the house and garden to sweatshirts, boots, hats, snowblower, lawnmower, patio furniture, oh and the nuts too lol
Everyone at this store is very well trained and extremely helpful friendly courteous and yes, I mean old-fashioned courtesies thank you so much. Whoever manages the store does a wonderful job training everyone and obviously that’s all of the people because everyone here is always super outgoing and down-to-earth. Thank you all for a great shopping experience.
Today I stopped in to get a pair of rubber boots to work in the garden. All of the registers were full, so the wonderful sales associate named Barbara took me up to the front and check me out solo and extremely quickly.
I posted a picture of us together because I appreciate the hard-working staff at Fleet Farm and I don’t know if enough people say thank you.
Are used to work in sales and I know it’s a pretty rough job because some people are not always very nice to the sales associates. I just want to say thank you Barbara for your time patience and TLC and taking me up to the front to get me checked out so quickly. You didn’t leave me stand in line.
Thank you all for your hard work and time. We will continue to the shop at Fleet Farm and just spread the good word.
Cheers...
Read moreTook my disabled grandfather to get a few things today, 1 item was a box of 243 rifle rounds. The cashier asked for an ID as she should. After my grandfather showed her his ID I proceed to pay with my grandmothers debit card. However a manager walked up and completely and rudely interrupted the cashier talking about a gun he was leaving at her counter and who will be coming for it etc. after he finishes she proceeds to whisper to him about something. He quickly steps over and asks for my ID as I’m waiting to pay, which I gave to him, same last name as my grandfather and still 18, so I could purchase on my own if I so desired but the cashier never asked for my ID. The manager starts talking about how if it’s for me I need to be 18 which I am, however you can legally hunt at the age of 10 so even if I was say 17 with my grandfather why would this be a problem. Obviously I would need to acquire ammunition in some kind of way. Very poor thought put into that conversation by both the cashier and manager who proceeded to talk about credit card fraud and how they check everyone’s ID but it’s a self swipe system so there shouldn’t be any question on that, which is irrelevant because they do not check everyone’s ID to see if it matches the card. Needless to say the cashier was trying to start an issue or just flat out being a b**ch and the manager was trying to be a big shot but couldn’t give a real reason of why I needed to be 18 so he went on about credit card fraud before walking away while I continued to pay with my grandmothers card and we left. Very poor experience. Fleet farm should try to educate their employees in those areas a little better or just do it in the...
