Lunch Time! My wife's coworker suggested we check this place out, so off we go!
The location is in a plaza and there is a very large sign both at the entrance of the plaza and on the location itself.
When you walk in you see a bar area you can sit at and the menu board is on the wall behind it. Here you order at the register by the door at the bar and they give you a number for your table and they bring out your food when it is ready. I suggest looking online at the different menu items because the bar board doesn't explain them. They have menus at the location with the descriptions, but I like getting an idea what I want to eat before I get to a place.
The staff at this location are great. They appear happy and are willing to help with anything you need.
I ordered the Johnny Boy only to be told that is the only thing on the menu they were out of. You see it has a slow cooked beef on it that takes a long time, and they only make it a few times a week. I was told they would have it tomorrow but I'm here today! I'm kidding, I understand. I then ordered the full size Jerry Callo which is basically a chicken and egg plant cutlet with peppers cheese and capicola and prosciutto. My wife chose the 1/2 sandwich and side special. She got the Italian PTL - which is a grilled chicken breast, prosciutto, and a avocado aioli with fries (the other options are 1/2 salad or soup).
We took our seat and waited for our food. The sandwiches are a good size. I didn't need a full. It was very filling. I wish I got the half and just ate a few of my wives fries instead of being bursting full like I am as I type this. I liked it. The chicken cutlet and eggplant were fried perfectly and the rest of the ingredients worked well.
My wife enjoyed her sandwich and commented on how the chicken was cooked perfectly. The fries were a very generous portion that would easily be shareable.
I would come back again and I will for the Johnny Boy. I will call first to make sure they have it, and I'd likely only get the half. I don't enjoy...
Read moreI’m Italian so here is my completely transparent honest review. It’s good. It’s very good. You walk in you’re greeted you either order quick, sit at the bar or pick a booth. The menu is limited and it is pricey a sandwich is going to cost you about 21$, so keep that in mind. If you love Italian food with an open mind and a spin on things you will absolutely love it here. It’s innovative to a degree. Is it like the basement we all grew up in? Mostly, basement and or Italian garage. Same thing. It’s “Grease” meets Italian basement meets “Happy Days” meets garage feel. It’s cool. The food is good. The pizza has a twist to it. It was just ok for me. It came out a little on the cooler side pepperoni wasn’t really cooked. I compare it to Jays Artisan pizza. Jay’s is still better, but this pizza isn’t too bad. The sandwiches are good. They are ginormous. Super sloppy so get a ton of napkins. And hey, that’s a good thing. The sauce is good, meatballs are way too garlicky for my taste. And yes I am Italian I love garlic but this kinda tipped it over for me. Still amazing tho. Their breaded chicken is incredible. The bread amazing. As an Italian this is my honest review. Yes we will continue to keep coming back because we support each other and this is absolutely amazing food and scenery. These people should be very proud of what they created. They put their heart and soul into this place and it shows. One more thing, the music I expected to hear more Frank, mixed w Eddie Money. If I’m going back in the day this is what I absolutely remember. Those memories will come back when you go here I promise you. Also add decks of cards to the table w checkers and it’s perfect. Xo Update: this place is just way too expensive. And prices have gone up. We went here a second time and it’s just crazy the prices. In this economy it just...
Read moreI have had their pizza at a luncheon with friends. It is the best pizza I have had in a long time! 5 plus stars for that. As well as the greens and beans are so delicious! I went there for my birthday dinner. It was very crowded. The acoustics are horrible. So crowded and noisy in their. We could t hear each other talk. It was not a pleasant, comfortable situation. I tried different options frim menu. I ordered the eggplant pamesian sandwich. My boyfriend ordered ziti with a meatball and sauce. His came out quickly and was served first. My food did not come out for another 15 minutes. Why wasn't it served at sane time?. My sandwich was cold, and bread was soggy from sauce and eggplant. It was disappointing. I only ate part of it. The pamesian garlic fries were great. Wedge salad was also good. My Boyfriends ziti was overcooked very soft pasta. The sauce has a lot of oregano in it and is more pizza sauce than pasta sauce. It did not have a good flavor. It should be Oregano for pizza and basil leaf for pasta sauce. The meatball was good but should have better sauce. Needless to say, the pasta was only half eaten. I am very disappointed because I chose it for my birthday meal instead of Red Fidele, where we always go. We almost left to go there at first because of the noise level. But decided to stick it out. I am sorry now that we did. But I will still come back for that pizza and greens and beans for takeout or in summer eat out doors. I felt embarrassed because i raved about the place to my boyfriend how...
