Visited for the 1st and last time. Was told there was a wait, and no reservations. No problem, arrived, gave phone number and waited in my car, 3 spaces over from the front door. The second my phone started ringing, got up and went right to the counter. They said that I didn't pick up and they gave away our table. I checked my phone. They had called twice in the second it took for me to get through the crowd at their counter, like they had called and quickly hung up. I had to stand there and wait for another table. We were taken to a table wedged under the bar at the back corner by the bathroom and kitchen door with wait staff and other diners going by every few seconds. My view, when I wasn't bumping my head into the bar top, was of their messy bar, mop, dishes, piles of menus, etc. It wasn't great. Coffee was warm, not hot. Good thing the mugs were small and the many servers who passed our table weren't stopping. There was a nearly empty bowl with 2 creamers and 1 sugar, used in my companions 1st cup of coffee. I left the empty bowl out and visible and no less than 5 servers walked by until we had to ask to have it filled. My partner tried explaining to the waitress why we were not having a good time, and she sent the manager who explained that the front had called "three" times (um, no), and I had to show him my phone that I called back in less than a minute after the 1st call to demonstrate testing the phone for them while I was up at the counter and that they had literally given us seconds to make it through the crowd to be told our table was given away. When the food finally came my omelet had split and grainy "hollandaise" and dry dill all over it. It was so nasty I couldn't continue eating it after a couple of bites. I tried the pancakes but they were so tough I couldn't cut bites to eat with my knife and fork and had to tear off bites and gave that up, too. They had clearly been under a warmer for some time. We left. I'll give my manager's gift cards to someone else. Clearly if you order anything they prepare ahead it will show, and they apparently prepare a LOT ahead...You'd think that would make your food arrive quickly, but you'd be wrong. I think the hostess had a friend she wanted to sit and "performed" calling me to give away our table. I hope the hostess's friend had a better meal than I had. They were clearly too busy to feed me. But maybe you'll be...

Went outside to wait and after 25 minutes checked back with the hostess. She said there were a few people ahead of us and it would be another 5 to 10 minutes. I told her we would continue to wait outside. 20 minutes passed and I went back inside and was told they tried to call me but I didn't pick up so they gave our table away. I showed her my phone and that I had received no calls. She said we would get the next table and apologized. She said she doesn't know why but it happens frequently that their calls to customers don't go through. I resisted the temptation to tell her that they probably need a better method. Our waitress gave us good service and was pleasant. They do have an extensive menu. We were there for breakfast and ordered waffles. Sadly we were told it was now just past noon and the waffle irons could not be turned back on....I mentioned that we first arrived at ten after eleven and had waited for 50 minutes....no dice, once the irons are off they stay off. Back to the drawing board. A few minutes later we succeeded in placing our order. The wait time for our food was reasonable . Two of us had eggs, pancakes and breakfast meat. Our third member had an omelet. The pancakes where huge and heavy, and one was not cooked through.. Neither of us were impressed with the flavor or texture. My eggs were cooked properly and were tasty but for some reason were very small. Two of us had hash browns and they were rated very good. The omelet was rated as okay, as were the breakfast meats. No refills were offered for our soft drinks or water. None of us would suggest this place...
Read moreI decided to go out to dinner and get a fish fry tonight. I was seated and placed my order with my waitress. I then told her I was going to the restroom and I had been waiting so that I could let her know I was going and would be right back. I come out of the restroom and they are seating a family at my table, the one I just left less than 3-5 minutes ago. I am in a boot with a broken foot and did have to walk to the other side of the restaurant and to the end of the hall so forgive me for not being quick about it. Anyway, I had to tell 3 people they gave away my table before getting another table, meanwhile the waitress is asking where I went and how the family got my table. So at this point, I'm not mad or upset, as I am alone and other than telling the waitress there is no way for them to know I'm coming back because there is only the silverware on the table, I'm just shocked it happened. I get a table and enjoy my fish fry, which was good. I tell the hostess at checkout that they gave away my table and before I finished my sentence she said we can't help that we're really busy. I tried to tell her that I told my waitress and she said ther they had a new busser so they didn't know. I then said that there was no way for me to leave a note on the table to say I'd be back. She told me to leave my keys, purse, or phone. I said I'm alone, I don't think that's a good idea. She told me she couldn't help me and to have a good night. You have a great night too Blue Ridge Grill Rochester NY. I used to get take out for myself quite often. But tonight your hostess's attitude lost you a customer. I hope she doesn't treat anyone...
