I want to preface this by saying my family and I have been long time supporters and diners at the Brook House. However, after our last meal we will not be returning. A group of 6 of us came and sat outside. At first we waited a while to even be greeted by a server. When he came he said our original server “did not want us” so he was serving us instead. That was extremely off putting. Next, we ordered and all seemed fine. I got the Haddock Mediterranean and it was decent tasting. However, I went to take a bite and there in my food was a fly. This fly was clearly cooked and served with my food. Now, mistakes happen. We were not mad…AT ALL. we told the waiter. He apologized and told the chef. The chef apologized and said he didn’t notice the fly. (Well I would hope not…) Then…nothing. No one came to our table. No manager. Mr. Fedele was not there that night either. The check came without another word and the meal was still on the bill! I had hardly eaten it. We asked to see the manager and the waiter got a bit upset and nervous. The manager came up and said she was unaware. That the fly probably flew into my food from outside where we were sitting. UH…NO. IT WAS CLEARLY COOKED INTO THE FOOD. She then took off the exact amount of the meal and walked away. This whole experience put a bad taste in all of our mouths. No one is immune to the raising prices and how expensive it is getting to eat out. When we spend our money…especially at a place like Brook House we expect a certain level of decency and accountability when things go wrong. Needless to say we will not be back. Also…on an unrelated note…to charge people a fee to pay with a credit card...
Read moreWe would eat at The Brook House several times a year, until tonight. We called for reservations and the hostess said they put names on a call ahead list and advised us to just come right on in - there would be a short wait. Upon checking in, we were told it would be a few minutes. We waited almost an hour while friends of the owner (table of four) were seated before us even though they arrived 1/2 hour after us. There was a party of three before us too and they also noticed what happened with the owner's friends. The party of three and our family (also three) tried to express our frustration about people arriving after us being seated before us, but the hostess couldn't care less. When we finally were seated and got our meals, the food was good, not stellar and WAY WAY overpriced. I cannot believe what they charged me to get a ladle of alfredo sauce on my pasta instead of marinara - $9.00!!! I ordered Chicken French which came with penne pasta and marinara for $19.00. I asked if they could put alfredo on the penne instead, waitress says yes and charges us $9.00 more....what a rip off!!! Are you joking me? $9.00 for a small ladle of alfredo on a side of pasta??? We had 1 small appetizer, 3 meals, 1 beer and soda. Our bill came to $82.00. The service was mediocre at best. As we were leaving, the owner thanked and said goodbye to people he knew (called them by name) and we were right behind them. The owner didn't acknowledge or thank us. Just them and turned away. Never again. Don't waste your time or money here because there are much better Italian restaurants...
Read moreRed Fedele's Brook House has been a staple Italian restaurant in Greece for decades! I personally regard it as the best Italian restaurant in Greece.
The venue is very open, inviting, and warm. The staff are always fantastic, and the drinks are made well. Once seated you're treated to complementary sliced Italian bread and butter, and the bread they use is especially good!
An appetizer I cannot recommend enough is calamari Capri. They are served in a wine butter garlic pepper sauce, along with banana peppers and black olives. The calamari Capri is probably the best calamari I've ever had, and my family get it every single time we come.
The real star of the Brook House menu is the Veal Parmigiana. It's a dish we order very often when going out to eat, and I can say with all confidence that that Brook House has the BEST veal Parm we have ever had. The outside is crispy, and the inside is perfectly cooked and moist. The sauce and cheese are equally fantastic! While in all honestly the pasta on the side is nothing special, the dish on a whole is still the pinnacle of this restaurant.
My family and I have been coming here for years, and we plan on coming for years more. In a day and age where it seems like nothing good stays the same, the Brook House has always been consistently excellent! Red himself always makes an effort to come to your table to welcome you and tell you how good...
