Alex's Lounge II — Restaurant in Town of Greenburgh

So yesterday we had a planned 30th birthday event with Alex’s Lounge II in Elmsford, NY and it was the WORST experience I’ve ever had in my life. We had an agreement to have our birthday dinner on their newly renovated deck that they offered to us and stated that we could bring our own decorations and music (via speaker) to accommodate our event. The party was supposed to happen between 8pm-11pm. Once we got to Alex’s Lounge around 6:30pm to set up for the dinner we were horribly greeted by a waitress stating “What are you guys doing — you cannot set up on the deck, the party is inside” No greeting, No hello how are you” really just a rude interaction. Once we told her this is where we had an agreement for our event. Alex comes out and tells us that he did not have a permit to allow people to eat on the deck. Alex never contacted us that he did not have a permit prior to said event. Not a phone call was made to even tell us that they were going to move our party indoors prior to said event. Fast forward, we asked to speak to Alex so we can figure out how our event would be accommodated indoors and he ignored us, stating that he was busy. Yet he was directly in front of us pretending that he was on the computer refusing to answer our questions. He had a lack of communication and poor customer service. As a member of this community who supported this business on many occasions I am truly disheartened by lack of respect, communication and implicit bias by Alex and his staff. I was at Alex Lounge II a few days ago with my wife and 4 year old daughter and the service was good in the beginning up until I got the bill at the end. I was given the total with gratuity included as part of the total as opposed to giving me an option to add my own tip amount. I told the waitress that it's not usual practice to force someone to pay a pre determined tip amount especially since a tip is optional and not required. I ended up giving a good tip at the end regardless but the attitude I got after I got a new printed out receipt was horrible. I also said good bye to the waitress and she completely ignored my family and she was standing right and front of us watching us leave. I think this is absolutely disrespectful and I regret ever leaving a tip to ungrateful people. I always leave a tip but refuse to be told what to pay, as we all know it is not a requirement. My wife used to work as a waitress so I know the ins and outs of how restaurants work and how they operate. I will never set foot again at this place they call a restaurant. Good bye Alex Lounge II. Update: Was thrilled by my last experience so I tried them again. Its a hit or miss for me. Order the enchiladas and got chicken topped with lettuce, tomato, Cheese and avocado? Enchiladas are normally wrapped like a taquito and served with sauce and cheese a top. This was just a salad. ALSO PLEASE UPDATED YOUR MENU TO REFELECT THE NEW PRICES.

My experience was great I'm happy I tried this place again. My 1st experience wasn't the best.

I would have given this place a 5 star rating because the food was off the chain. All compliments to the chef that worked on Tuesday night. However, the prices on the menu did not reflect that of the bill. There was an upcharge, I was a bit put off by that. Menu needs to be updated.
