If you don’t want to hear me waffle, head to the bottom for the summary.
Love Asian hot pot? This place is for you! Love Korean BBQ? This place is for you! Love both? Then this place was made for you! Have small kids or limited mobility? This place is most definitely for you!
As a K-Pot veteran who typically frequents the restaurant located at Bay Plaza Mall, I had an idea of what to expect. However, I learned that not all K-Pots are created the same.
KPot Scarldale is brand new location opened up in September 2024. The interior is modern and the place is spacious.
We arrived at the restaurant around 3 PM on a Saturday, and it was about 50% full, so booking a table for eight people was straightforward.
We were seated by a server named Jae, who handed us a tablet to place our orders. My first thought was, “What’s going on here?” Then we were informed that there was no buffet, and we had to order via the tablet. I enjoy the buffet at the Bay Plaza location, so I was a little concerned.
While browsing the menu on the tablet, I noticed there were no crab legs (crab legs are my favorite), which again left me a little concerned.
We ordered the food, and I wondered if it would take a long time. I headed to the bathroom and was pleasantly surprised at how clean it was; I saw that they clean the toilets hourly which is great.
I returned to the table after a few minutes, and THE FOOD WAS ALREADY THERE! The first “concern” was addressed.
Then I ordered steak, fish, shrimp, and chicken, and everything was fantastic, so the second concern was also addressed.
All in all, everything was perfect, and my total bill for eight people (including one child) was $300, including an 18% tip . Some say the tipping culture is out of control in America, but I was more than happy to leave an additional tip for Jae’s hard work. As for the staff, whatever K-Pot is doing to them or feeding them, I want some, because they are all happy, polite, and professional.
Waffle-free summary:
K-Pots are great for Asian hot pot and Korean BBQ. This K-Pot is buffet-free; you place an order through the tablet, which is advantageous for people with limited mobility or those with small children.
If you’re a crab leg fiend, they do not have any, so consider going to Bay Plaza instead. However, still give this place a try once your crab leg cravings have been satisfied.
Very affordable, and the staff are very professional and polite.

Read moreI've been here several times and it never fails to leaves me satisfied with the quality of food they serve here. The servers are nice, and they do their best to accommodate the many people that come during dinner hours and big parties of people. You can always ask them to replace the grill if you feel it's too charred from grilling, or for extra scissors and tongs so that everyone can have control of the selections they got. They have good knowledge for the tablet they leave on every table to help parties pick out what they want for hot pot soup bases, and if the drinks are refillable or not.
Very nice choices of sauce to choose and make from the sauce bar as well! Super impressed by how many they offer. There's a little ice cream freezer that they have on the side at the sauce bar: which usually has vanilla, strawberry and chocolate flavor. During the summer they sometimes have sorbet flavors.
There's a small claw machine of plushies as well towards the front of the restaurant, and you can buy their own KPOT Rilakkuma bear which I find so cute for people who love collecting plushies. There's two colors of the bear to choose from since the last time I bought one.
I must say my favorite soup base is the Korean seafood one, as it includes a single mussel, a squid meat, a single shrimp and plenty of flavor if you wanted a ramen-like soup feel if you added ramen noodles like I do. The flavor has a mild peppery/spicy kick to it, not very strong and not too weak if you're looking for that kind of thing. I put plenty of dumplings in there too, which is usually just the shumai and shrimp dumplings. It always comes out perfectly cooked, they come frozen and you leave it in the soup to cook for a couple of minutes.
For KBBQ beef choices, I MUST recommend the hanger steak. It's the most tender cut out of most of the red meat choices, and it cooks and cuts well when cooked to your liking. If you prefer to have salt on it, there's a salt container at the sauce bar, right by the stacks of bowls. If you want to dip it in your sauce, even better because it still gives you a nice balance. For seafood, the salmon is also a must have, grilling it is the best option as it also is tender and fresh. Salmon is a dinner item though, so beware.
Will always come back here as my favorite KBBQ spot. Also, whoever is in charge of the playlist for the music on the speakers, I love you, coming from a kpop fan ♡ Keep...
Read moreI recently visited KPOT Scarsdale and had an exceptional dining experience. We came at 9/28/2024 for soft opening and we opted BBQ. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food options and a unique blend of Korean BBQ and hotpot, making it an ideal place for both meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Here’s a detailed review of my experience: The food selection at KPOT Scarsdale is impressive. Some of the standout items we tried included: Hanger Steak Tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection on the grill. Finger Ribs These were incredibly delicious, with a good balance of meat and fat. They were juicy and well-seasoned. Bulgogi A classic Korean dish that was as good as expected—sweet, savory, and rich in flavor. The variety of vegetables available was fantastic, offering a healthy balance to the meat-heavy options. They had everything from mushrooms, zucchini, to leafy greens, providing plenty of choices for those who prefer vegetarian dishes or want to complement their meat. Our server, Carter was very attentive and knowledgeable. Carter made sure we had everything we needed and took the time to explain different dishes and how best to cook them on the grill. His enthusiasm and attention to detail really enhanced the dining experience. I also had the pleasure of interacting with the managers, Christina and Wei they were visible throughout the restaurant, ensuring that everything was running smoothly. They both exhibited great leadership and made sure guests felt welcome and satisfied. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, perfect for both casual gatherings and special occasions. The seating arrangement was comfortable, and the grill setup at the table made for an interactive and fun dining experience. KPOT Scarsdale is a fantastic place to enjoy high-quality Korean BBQ and hotpot. The combination of great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit. Special shoutout to Carter for making our experience even more memorable, and to Christina and Wei for their hands-on management.
