I've had so many bad experiences here in the last 4 years I would write a book on it if I could.
The lobby is normally open until 11pm ( I believe or at least that's what it says on their doors) and I have been there as early as 9:45pm, lobby doors locked and they only let delivery services in to get the food and lock the door right behind them. Thus, meaning if they mess up your order at the drive thru which happens more than not-you have to go through the drive thru again.
Going there when it's not busy is just as bad as going to them when they're busy. It takes roughly 20-30 minuets from speaker to window when there's one car in front of you ordering a small bag of food via the drive thru or not even a single car ahead of you.
They never give receipts via drive thru so if you make it home and turn around to have your order corrected, they end up taking more time to find the receipt and order in the system than it would of taken to give you the receipt. Then, you still end up waiting 10+ minuets to get your corrected food.
I order things with no cheese as cheese makes me very sick, and 10 out of 10 times this particular McDonald's ends up putting cheese on it when there is literally a grill slip on the wrapper stating 'no american cheese'. So clearly, someone looked at it and saw what it said 'no cheese' and proceeds to put cheese on it anyway. I also don't get lettuce on hot sandwiches because the cold/hot combo is something that doesn't work for me. Again, I get food with a grill slip saying 'no lettuce' on the box or wrapper, and low and behold-there is lettuce all over it. Now normally, lettuce isn't an issue as it's usually a leaf and I can just pull it off, but with shredded lettuce is a pain to take off and it generally takes any sauce off of the sandwich with it.
I've gotten chicken nuggets that were so under cooked, they were floppy and just by looking you could tell they weren't cooked thoroughly, and upon biting into them, there was a clearly visible pink center with the smallest amount of cooked chicken surrounding it. Mind you, it took 15 minuets of waiting at the window to get them (and believe me they were fresh out of the fryer as they were hot), and then another 10 when we realized they forgot an order of nuggets, and we had to go back around through their drive thru.
Their breakfast and their all day breakfast is a joke too, ordering a McGriddle after breakfast cutoff time, you can tell the physical McGriddle 'buns' are old as it is generally as hard as a rock. This also takes forever to receive because they actually have to cook parts of it-WHICH IS FINE, but you can tell some things have been sitting around for way longer than they should have been. I've gotten their 'big breakfasts' there at breakfast times and received eggs that were borderline burnt on the bottom, and runny on the top, cardboard hot cakes, half burnt sausage, a biscuit that should of been thrown out hours ago, and the only decent item is the hash brown.
Not to mention I went there once with my mom, and they had the 2 for $5.55 two filet o fish, 2 large fries or a large fry and filet o fish on their menu board in the lobby. We predetermined we'd split a fry as neither of us ever eat the entire box, and my mom loves their filet o fishes, so she asked for that. The cashier helping us informed her that it was not a promo they were doing anymore, and my mom kindly pointed behind her and said it was right there advertised on the menu. The cashier calls over a shift manager or manager (not so sure as we weren't informed as to who he was) and he stated that indeed, it wasn't their promo. My mom said it was advertised so technically, they should give it to her. So her and and this really rude guy went back and forth for a few minuets. Then, when he decided the conversation was over, and FLIPPED THE SIGN RIGHT IN FRONT OF US to show a different promo, and...
Read moreAvoid this franchise location at all costs! We went yesterday intending to go through the drive thru, but it was wrapping 3 sides of the building and didn't appear to be moving, so we decided to park and go inside. My sister completed her order first and politely asked if she could get a receipt. The cashier said "No". When my sister asked why not, the cashier said, "I can't do that" and gave her a stoic facial expression. I'm pretty sure she was on some hard drugs because she didn't care, gave curt responses and didn't have any facial expressions. The cashier just stared as if it was normal to talk to a customer like that. So my sister gave up and said it was okay, but on the side did the math. We ordered and it seemed to come out within a dollar so we figured it was fine for us as well. While waiting for our orders, an earlier customer complained that she was ignored when they asked what the order number was when there was a full tray of fries just sitting at the counter and the McDonald's employee responded to her asking by taking the food away. It turned out to be her order and she was able to get it a few min later. My sister realized that she was overcharged by over $4. She asked for the receipt again and the manager eventually walked by and in 3 clicks was able to get the receipt no problem (no paper replacement needed). It turns out that the cashier charged her for 2 large sodas when my sister didn't order any drinks at all. When it came time for me to get my order, they forgot the fries. We asked for them and the manager said it'd be $2.80. We told them we paid about the right amount, but the manager insisted we pay an extra $2.80. So we had to ask for the receipt and the cashier charged us for a large soda instead of a large fries. The price difference was about 60¢ according to the manager and then forced us to pay for 2 sauce packets for the difference. They messed up and still charged us the full price? On top of that, no apologies from the cashier.
When it came to the actual food quality, it didn't meet my expectations for a McDonald's. The fries were half empty and soggy. The Big Mac was sloppy so the box was closed on the bun and was skimped on. The mcdouble looked like it was stepped on. My sister said her nuggets were fine, but they weren't hot as her 5yr old was able to eat it right away.
Honestly, I hope this location gets bought or shut down. It is possibly the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. Oh, and it wasn't the cleanest. We drove across the street to the mall to eat because it was disgusting inside. It wasn't a nice renovated one like most...
Read moreBeen a customer here my whole life, as I grew up right down the road. Starting a few months ago, this location began CONSISTENTLY getting my order wrong, every time. Not just one time, or two. But every single time. Either the wrong order, or the buns would be stale and cold, the cheese unmelted like it had just been thrown on the patty, or just overall rudeness while ordering. I thought, eh what the heck, it's mcdonald's what more can I ask for. Then, about 3 weeks back, I stopped there early one morning about 4:45am and the woman who took my order (and apparently the only one working there) didn't even greet me through the intercom but instead stated sharply: "Cash Only. What would you like to order" And proceeded to tell us that there machine was down. I've never heard of this happening, and was very sketched out by the situation. Needless to say, along with the last 10 or so negative experiences, I didn't order anything that morning. Only went 1 time after that, ordered the two breakfast burrito meal. While one of the burritos was OK (in that the tortilla was a bit stale), the second burrito was cold. NOT lukewarm, but actually cold like it had been in a refrigerator. I'm not sure if this place has undergone new management or what, but after 28 years of living in Guilderland, this establishment has lost my business. I'm only writing this because I've recently started going to burger king and chipotle down the street (at the corner of Fuller and Western), and have not had a single issue. I get an one-off, where a forgetful employee forgets to do something or include an item, but consistently getting stuff wrong or being nasty to customers is how a place loses customers. If you live around here, get burgers at Wendy's, Five Guys or Burger King down the road. If you're passing through off the highway, do yourself the favor and go elsewhere or make your way to the Delmar Mcdonald's or further down 87 at a rest area. This...
