DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse-Open Newly Remodeled — Local services in Town of Guilderland

It's a big shoe store, but other than that I do not reccomend it. The employees are incredibly rude. I came to this store on a Sunday not knowing the mall hours (its google page lied and said that it closes at 9:30) and in the midst of trying on shoes I was approached by who I think was the manager, a middle-aged woman, who informed me that the mall was closed. My problem is the way she had informed me as she had been very rude about it in her tone and the expression she gave me. Before that other employees were quite standoffish and none greeted me and I could tell they didn't care for me to be there. Even prior to that woman approaching me one employee passed by me with a vacuum and gave me a less than amiable look..and didn't even bother to tell me that the store was closing. Other than that I wasn't impressed at all with the store. Rows upon rows of overpriced shoes with okay-at-most discounts on designer brands that weren't good enough to entice me to buy from a store with unfriendly employees and a rude manager. After that unpleasant encounter I immediately left the store and resolved not to bring my business back there ever again. I ended up returning to the mall the next day when it was open on regular business hours and purchased the shoes I needed from JCP - Which by the way were not only as good in quality but was a much better deal price-wise. I hope whoever that woman was gets fired. I've worked in retail before and there are more cordial ways to let a potential customer know that your store is closed - especially if they are ignorant...

The D is suppose to stand for 'discount'.

Don't get me wrong, DSW, since I first met the store chain at the Carrousel Mall in Syracuse, has always been my first place to go and buy shoes. When I was a kid, it was easy, and cheap too, as their clearance section sometimes took up multiple isles in the back of the store. Not so much now.

Still, $70 for a new pair of New Balance is good enough I guess. However, when I wanted to resize my feet, just to be sure I had the right ones picked out, the staff said they no longer had any for men. Something about them being stolen, which is weird for someone to want and steal what is essentially a ruler for feet, but even weirder they didn't restock them and create new rules to make sure the new ones didn't get stolen.

So I ended up with shoes in the same size I had, but not the confidence I got what...

Completely unsatisfied, called you have my order picked, at no point in time did the associate say that my order wasn’t in stock. Had someone go to pick up my order 45 mins away only to find it’s been partially cancelled. Ugh. To add insult to injury when I spoke with Jennifer the supervisor there tonight she seemed annoyed by my continued calls and reminded that the shoes were on clearance anyway and that they sold out few days ago ( despite still being on website in all colors and sizes). I was told that I have to wait to cancel the other half of my order cause it’s processing, just hasn’t shipped. I just wanna throw the whole experience away. If I could no stars I...
